Will The Campground Stay Open 3/15 - 3/29?

I’ve read on other boards that the resorts are open mainly to accommodate guests until they clear them out. We’re starting our trip today and wondered if our two week trip will be cut short. Also, what is open there in the campground?

Tried an experiment today. The Fort is not taking any new reservations thru the end of March. As soon as I selected April 1 sites were available. The assumption is those already in can stay. Don’t know what happens with existing/future March reservations. Haven’t heard anything about what will be open but hopefully Trails End and Stores will be. I would think Chip and Dale, movies, etc may be questionable since it’s “crowd gathering” and would defy the CDC “6 foot” social distance recommendation. I would suggest trying to contact them and find out what will be open but good luck with that right now. Best wishes with your vacation plans - there’s always Cocoa Beach or Clearwater!

Great idea for an experiment, Breezy2.

I tried your approach on an ADR for Trails End on Saturday March 21 and it came up and offered me times for breakfast that morning. So you may be correct about the Trading Posts and Trails End remaining open for business as is Disney Springs IIRC.

With Spring Break rates it would be an expensive camping spot to just camp.

While they say the campground will be open, how open will it really be. If it clears out to under 30% occupied will the pools be open? Will the boats run to get to the Wilderness Lodge. I like sitting out at the Geyser Point bar and Grill, but if there is no action on the lake and only two other people at the bar it might not be as much fun. Would they slow down or stop the rotation of the internal bus system? I like some of the restaurants on the monorail loop, but I might have to drive to get to them (parking might be easy). I have Top of the World brunch reservations on 3/29 (a hard to get reservation) and can't imagine them running it if almost no one is there. I can only eat so much in a day. I have reservations for 3/25 through 4/7. What are the chances the parks actually open on 4/1, or part way through my trip they announce and extended closure. I'm just not feeling very confident at the moment. The camper is 3/4 packed but it may just stay in storage a while longer.

I have changed my thinking about my vacation. It’s now a camping trip and we’ll visit whatever little places are still open. It’s cold, snowy, and miserable in Milwaukee. The weather here is beautiful ❤️ I just needed a break from everything and this silly virus isn’t going to stop me. Hopefully Disney won’t stop me from sunbathing by the pool and if they do I’ll go sit by the beach. Or maybe just sit at my campsite. I love Disney even when it’s closed ❤️❤️❤️

I agree..can you please keep us updated...I arrive the 18march

So looks like all resort hotels closing 3/20. Assume that includes FW.

So sorry for those who have reservations during this time.

Wonder if they will let those who live there fulltime, shelter in place. If they make them leave, would they let them leave their campers on-site? Will be interesting to see how they are handled.

People live there full time????

It was a sad day today. I pulled the plug on everything, site reservation, after hour tickets, dining reservations, fast passes, and flights for my wife and daughter. It’s going to be hell around here for a while, but I don’t think I really had a choice. I hope this all clears up soon.

Yes a couple. On back-to-back 30 day reservations.

I bet in this situation EVERYBODY has to roll out the gate. It's an issue of public health (and liability).

I haven't cancelled yet (still 4+ weeks), but I'm already preparing for the day. I don't see how they will be back open by April 17th. At work, we are being told to plan for 8 weeks, at least.

I know they made everyone leave, including the RV, for the hurricane evacuations. Slightly different now, but I don't think Disney will accept responsibility for anyone's RV while the whole place is closed up.

Hang on a damn minute!

If everyone is pulling out...who is feeding all the squirrels!? Alright, to this point I've rolled my eyes as much in the last week as I have in the last 5 years at all the ignorant crazy fools and cleaning out the markets of TP and hand sanitizer that doesn't work against coronavirus, the excessive closures of some business but the very idea of the squirrels at FW not having ready access to free food is beyond all reason.

Might as well just give up!

They have their hurricane stashes built up for emergencies.
