Will the 8:30 dinner seating be ok with kids?

We had early seating on our first cruise (after being assigned late and waitlisted). This time I signed up for late seating. We are in the mountain time zone so the early seating was just a little too early for us. My kids will be old enough to handle the late seating. They stay up later on vacations anyway.

Okay, I see both sides of the late vs early seating question. I took the early one for our Easter 2006 cruise because I just figured we wouldn't be able to digest that much food at 9pm (by the time dinner's on the table). My 5 yr old, however, is used to the late dinners that her teen sister's require because of sports. And when we go to Disney we're always eating late at Epcot in order to see Illuminations as we leave. We stay up late and sleep late.

What do you miss if you have the late seating???? Would more of the teens (17 & 15) be in the 2nd seating normally? It sounds like the 2nd seating might be quieter if everyone is falling asleep at the table!!!!

Another option would be to let your kids eat with the club, we taken them up to topsiders or beach blanket buffet and they are able to have all there favorites. This may be a good option when eating at Luminares, or tritons, as this is a fancy restrauant and the kids may get bored easily. This way the kids are fed and having a great time and you can enjoy a romantic dinner. We also lay down mats for the kids when they are tired, so you can pick them up and take them straight to bed without having there times disrupted. The clubs also do lunch on all days as well. On Nassau days, parents usually like to use this option to go off the ship and have a day out in Atlantis or on shore, or have a massage when it's no so crowded.

I know its good to have family time, but if you doing the land and sea option, you may find that after spending 24/7 with them at the park, you may need some grown up time alone. :teeth:

Hey TVGuy,

We're from Elk Grove. It's nice to see another Dis'er from the Sacramento area :)
