So I've taken hold of a fresh perspective much in the way dear Jack clings to his jar of dirt in POTC2. My new perspective has become my jar of dirt.
I feel...almost...apathetic. But I know it's not that...I know it's that I've finally regained my senses, and stopped getting caught up in things that aren't important, and regaining what really is, truly important.
DH and my boy.
And to speak of the boy, we must speak of some of the dearest words I've ever heard him utter.
Ranked right up there with "Mama, I love you."
Yes...it was that good.
We were driving home from running some errands this week, and I had on the Magic Kingdom Special Events cd, which DS requests to listen to. Oh yes, my three year old is well versed in the various Disney music I have to offer him, and will request 'Luminations or 'Clapping/Tiki Room (50th Anniversary CD) or Mickey Clubhouse. You get the idea. So right now, we're stuck on said cd, which DS calls Mickey Boo.
And we get to the part where the music comes on from the Magic and Mayhem fireworks. And the first strains of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie theme begins to play, which DS knows all too well, since we have those soundtracks, too, and all of a sudden, from the back seat, in a clear little voice, I hear...
"Mama...I LOVE JACK SPARROW!"
That's my boy!
"I said, DS, you know what? I love Jack Sparrow, too. And I love you."
Oh what a hoot if the boy could meet Jack Sparrow. I think he'd be even more beside himself than his mama. My boy loves Jack Sparrow. He likes to watch the movies, he likes to listen to the music, and if he hears anything about pirates, he says "Jack Sparrow." Or "AR!" When he was younger, we actually taught him to say "Dead men tell no tales." And it was part of our night time routine. Right after reading a book and before kisses in bed.
I know.
We're weird parents.
But I love my little nut

, and he loves Jack Sparrow. And Yellow
Crocs. I can't wait to take him on vacation.
And for those of you who aren't from the Northeast, let me give you a little heads up about our weather here for the past week. It's been HOT. Like, Florida in summer HOT. I remarked to one of of my customers it was like living in the Florida without the benefit of Disney World and that just wasn't fair. I mean, if I have to put up with this kind of heat, there should be some benefit!
So I got to thinking, wow. It's really hot, and it will most likely be like this in the World. DS needs some more tanks.
I know, everything comes back to shopping.
So, I was able to find these. They're from the fourth of July, but have no year or date on them, which is great. I actually got two of each, because they were only $3 a piece. So $12 for four shirts. I plan to wash and dry one to see if it shrinks and then decided how many I'm keeping. But I felt they summed up the boy quite nicely.
Yup. I make a lot of noise and Mr. Independent. That's my three year old, right there. I also got him a swimsuit, since he was in desperate need of a new one. Don't have a photo yet, but I'll post that soon. Cute, chocolate brown and blue hibiscus flower board shorts. I like the style, and I think it'll look great on him. Also for the bargain price of $5. Don't you just love
WalMart?
So all this clothing extravanganza cannot come to pass without a nod to my own adventures in the fashion world.
Now, a lot of times, I'll think during the course of my day, oh this has to go in my pre-trip, or I need to tell so and so about this, you get the idea.
But literally, when my sandals arrived from Shoebuy my reaction was so immediate and emotional it had to be recorded for posterity.
Familiar with Lord of the Rings?
Literally, opened the box of Merrell sandals, picked them up, took one look and said, "My precious." Oh, my lovely precious sandals.
And 'lil Jack approves! I tried them on and my feet said..."AHHHH!"
Only issue is I'm not convinced a size nine wouldn't fit a bit better. The eights are snug, and perhaps a little too snug for a sandal. My feet are crying to wear these shoes, but I went online and ordered a nine just to compare. So I know I'll be keeping these, just not sure which size as the nines haven't come yet.
And that's pretty much our clothing issues of late. Not too many issues, more successes which has been nice. I was getting slighlty frustrated for a while there. I think the good karma of my chill attitude is coming to fruition.
The only other debate I've had with myself, which has actually been a lot calmer and less angst filled is whether or not to call back and try to score a Boma dinner ressie.
As it stands, the non-itinerary itinerary reads as such
Sep 14 - Arrival Day
Sep 15 - 530pm Coral Reef
Sep 16 - 1145am Chef Mickey's,
MNSSHP
Sep 17 - 1230pm Brown Derby
Sep 18 - 1020am Boma
Sep 19 - 600pm Artist Point
Sep 20 - 1145am Crystal Palace, 400pm Lapu Lapu Fest (Tink, is this okay?)
Sep 21 - Departure Day
Not sure where I would squeeze this in since I'm jonesin' for some Spectromagic on the 20th. And I don't like having two ADRs in one day. Too much planning for my pirate blood.
What do you all think? Let it be? Call again?
I hesitate to switch anything at this point...I've become so relaxed in my attitude, I've started to think, meh, we'll do it next year.
Any thoughts?
