I like to offer whatever humble advice I may to prolong the sanity of the sisterhood.

Too cute! I love that he calls you mama. His favorite is the angry one. He looked at it and said, "mama, blue, purple, red, yellow..."![]()

Oh, yeah. We're mama and papa. Not momma and poppa, but ma-ma and pa-pa. Almost French...except we're not French...but we like those names. I know someday he'll try to switch to Mommy or even Mom...but I'm trying to put it off if I can. That will mean my little boy is growing up. :::shudder::: Although, if we could get passed the three year old attitude, that would be fantastic! Who ever said terrible twos...have you met a three year old lately?

Ooooooh. Good for you! I still call my mom, mumma sometimes. Especially when I'm stressed out and feeling whiney.I'm still mama, and my kids are going to be in third and sixth grades -- I don't think you need to worry. Although, Chelsea tried to start calling me Mother the other day and I just flat out put a stop to that -- I am not a "Mother" type of person -- makes me think of Joan Crawford in Mommy Dearest for some reason.

What ever gave you that impression?Ahhhh, is he at the testing-his-limits stage?

My father has already informed me that when I have children, they will refer to him as Papa. My parents have two cats and he even refers to himself as Papa to the cats, it's pretty adorable, especially if you knew my Dad.

My dad is called Papa, pronounced poppa. It's very cute, too.

It gets better, I promise.
My mom is Grammie and my dad is Gran'daddy.
Here's the funny story about my father-in-law. Before any of the children were born, he declared that he would be called Grandfather -- he would not answer to anything else. He is a great guy, but very proper and formal, you know. Well, anyway, Will, my nephew, was the first-born and for some reason called FIL Bubba (he is so not the Bubba-type). Needless to say, it stuck and all the grandkids call him Bubba now.![]()
Poor Bubba.![]()
I might feel sorry for him if he hadn't been so pompous about what he would be called. I half suspect my brother-in-law of being the mastermind of the whole thing.

DF has the greatest names ever for grandparents. All of his cousins called them this. His grandfather is Sonny and his grandmother was Barb or Barbie. Hehehe. When they talk about them it's Sonny & Barb. I can just imagine a little DF calling them that.Sonny is about the coolest guy ever too. He drives a pt cruiser and he just turned 83!
