Will TarzansKat meet Captain Jack? ~A Pirate's Life for 3 Pre-Trippie~ We're back!

Yup. We're back to liquids. I plan to increase to 5 teaspoonfuls soon. I don't think he's going to be awake much longer though. He's flat out on the couch, and looks exhausted. This is my child who normally takes a 2-3 hour nap a day, today he only slept an hour. Honestly, I can't wait to get him to sleep. I keep hoping he'll wake up in the morning and feel better. If I can't get any food in him tomorrow morning, I'm going to call my ped's office again and see what they think. At least he's gaining some color in his face now! :goodvibes

Alright, the little nugget finally went to bed. He was so restless out here on the couch, then finally drifted off. DH has also thrown up now, but he's feeling better. It's a little easier, at least he knows not to eat! :lmao:

Ah, my house of sickies.

Alrighty, I'm sure at some point this will be funny. Not now. Maybe 4 months from now when Tink and I are sipping whatever rum concotion we chose at the Tambu Lounge and I'll say casually...remember the puke fest of 2008? How my pre-trip report was overtaken by descriptions of bodily functions no one wants to think about much less discuss? Then we'll nod and laugh because it will be over! :rotfl2:

Anyhoo :rolleyes1

I'm actually soliciting advice here. I'm taking a look at my Animal Kingdom day, and I had us doing counter service for lunch, I was thinking Restaurantosaurus. But the more I look at it, that seems to me like "normal" counter service fare. I'm wondering if any of you have eaten at Flame Tree Barbecue? I've heard it's good, but is it goooooooooood. Any opinons would be great, in addition to if they have good food for kids, and where to sit...I've heard the ducks can be...uh...forceful. ;)

I hope you are taking Vitamin C and washing those germs away! I hope you don't get sick too. Hopefully tomorrow will be a brand new un-sickie day!

From your mouth to God's ears, eh? I am taking my multi-vitamin and drinking juice, and doing lots and lots of hand-washing.

If I get sick I'm going to be really  and lots of words I can't say on the DIS. I hate throwing up. Blech.

I LOVE Flame Tree!

I wish I could have it once a week for lunch!

If you like BBQ, it's the way to go.

Thanks! I don't like BBQ all the time, but I really enjoy it when it's done well. What is your favorite lunch? :)

I always get the 1/2 smoked chicken meal (I think that's what it is).

It comes with delicious corn bread. And some beans, which I think are good, but not everyone thinks that!

It's so much food, but I manage to eat most of it cuz it's so good!

Sounds yummy. I looked up the menu and see the also have a pulled pork sandwich. I had better stop before I drool all over the keyboard! :lmao:

I have been overdosing on vitamin c today. I really hope I don't feel worse tomorrow. I feel the same way about throwing up, as a child I would deny that I was going to be sick all the way to the bathroom. My parents still like to impersonate to this day.

TarzansKat -- I don't know if I missed this in your report so far but where is your favorite place to eat?? I have never had a table service at any of the parks, just have done counter in the past. I am interested in your opinion and I am too lazy to search through your posts.:rolleyes1

I love it! When I was eight years old, my mom took me and my sister to see Peter Pan in the theater. I had what I thought was a stomach ache, but was so distracted by the film, I didn't notice how bad it was until the car ride home...as I was doubled over in the back seat...diagnosis?

Acute appendicitis! Needless to say I had a little surgery that day. :)

You know I don't think I've actually mentioned favorites so far. It's very, very hard for me to pick a favorite. If I could do a favorite for each park that would be easier! ;)

Table Service-

Magic Kingdom - The Crystal Palace - hands down, I love the Pooh characters and the food here is great, we prefer lunch or dinner since we usually do breakfast at Chef Mickey's

Epcot - The Coral Reef - excellent!
Also, Nine Dragons in China - best Chinese food ever, but it'll be closed for renovations during the rest of the year

MGM - The Brown Derby - on the dining plan, it's a signature restaurant, but if you're paying out of pocket, you might want to consider lunch, I love the atmsophere and the food is excellent

Animal Kingdom - ????? Can you believe I've never done a sit down meal here? Usually on our Animal Kingdom day I end up going to tea at the Grand Flo, so I'm at a loss

And we do love Chef Mickey's for breakfast. The food is great, and it's always fun to see Mickey and friends. :thumbsup2

Now, don't even get me started on favorite counter service...I have so many :rolleyes1

How's the little peanut this morning?

Thanks for asking. It's been rough. Although we were able to get up to four teaspoonfuls, anything past that was too much.

And he is crying for his juice cup. We still use straw cups, and he just does not understand why he can't have one. We gave him about an ounce of juice/pedialyte last night and he promptly threw it up. This morning, I tried again to give him more, and again, he threw it up.

I'll be calling the doc's office when they open. I just don't know what to do. He is wetting his diapers, so I know he's hydrated, I just can't believe he's still puking. I am really so frustrated, and so is DH. We've had some not so good moments in the past couple of days.

Right now, he's laying down watching Spongebob. And he's kept down 8 teaspoonfuls in the past twenty minutes. So, we begin again.

And, although DH, threw up last night, he insists on going to work. Read as, he has no sick time, and these are the same people who haven't "approved" our vacation. In their defense, when DH was really sick one day last year, they sent him home. So, I guess we'll see what happens.

I'm sorry, was that a sidetracked rant our what?

So sorry to hear the wee man's still poorly:sad2: . I think you're doing the right thing phoning the Doc's first thing. :goodvibes  & prayers :flower3:

Hope your DH:sick: feels better soon too

Alright, I see all you lurkers out there. Reading my trip report in the dead of night, chuckling to yourselves! Join the crew, mates! There's plenty of rum. I won't hide it....:rotfl2:

So today, I feel like I need to post a chapter. I have been stuck in the land of sick family all weekend and I'm exhausted. I need to do something fun even if it will take me a while to post this because I'm taking care of DS. At least I'm writing it.:goodvibes

I wanted to tell you all about something that remind me of my trip as I'm cruisin' through my day.

This is adorable. We live in an apartment complex, a very nice one, but I like to spruce up our door a little bit with wreaths matching whatever season. Well, this year, since I live in New England I was really hankering for spring. A little too early. Like the end of February/beginning of March! :lmao: So I put out our cute little floral spring wreath and hoped that Mother Nature would heed my call for warmer days.

Little did I know she had other surprises in store for us.

I would come home from work and find twigs all over the ground in front of our door. I thought, what? What is this? Maybe the wreath is shedding? I would take a look, but find nothing.

Until, finally one day, DH, who is much taller than I am, spotted it.

A bird's nest. :woohoo:

It is so cool! A bird's nest on our wreath on our door. We showed it to DS and he was very excited. Currently we're up to five eggs.

What does this have to do with Disney you're wondering? How can it possibly be related. Well, normally as I'm going out or in, I make a bit of a ruckus with my keys so the birds will know I'm coming and I won't scare them. Typically when we open the door, they fly away.

However, one day on my way back from the gym, I forgot. And this bird flew right past my head to a little tree opposite our door.

And you know what it was folks?

A Sparrow!!!!!! :lmao:

Leave it to the TK family to have a sparrow nest on their wreath on their door. So every day, as I look at our soon to be baby sparrows, I am reminded of my ultimate goal...vacation with my boys...meeting Captain Jack.

Ah, bliss. :cloud9:

Alrighty, guys, I talked to our nurse who is fantastic. This is the woman who helped me through exclusively pumping for DS and who is just amazing with kids. I love, love, love her!

We had stopped giving DS Tylenol because his fever came down. She recommended starting it again because she said some of the kids are feeling very crampy and nauseous and it's hindering their ability to keep anything down. So I just gave it to him, and a little bit of juice. In about a half an hour, she said to try a tiny bit of dry cereal, like Cheerios and see if he can keep it down. I'm supposed to call her back at 1100 to let her know how it's going. If he doesn't improve, we have to go in to make sure he's not dehydrated.

So we have our heading.

It sounds like a good plan. I'll keep you posted. :goodvibes

That is so cute. Sparrows! My parents have a front door that they don't use and my mom has gotten a nest in her wreath before but now like they to make a nest in the overhang. It is so neat to be able to open the door and look through the glass screen door and see the babies grow up. This story reminds me of when we grew tadpoles from eggs. It was awesome watching them hatch and go through their cycle to become frogs. You should do this with your little guy, I remember it so vividly!

I diddn't realize you were a fellow New Englander! Yay!
