We have a trip planned for February 2-11 2007 and just found out the Superbowl is in Miami. We went in Feb. 2005 not knowing the Superbowl was in Jacksonville. (Jacksonville is about 134 miles from WDW and Miami is about 240) I'm hoping the distance will keep crowds away, but not sure. There were so many people in 2005 that they had to bring in 3 cruise ships and dock them for additional hotel space.

Just trying to see if anyone has any opinions on whether this should make us change our plans!

thanks

From what we have experienced day of the Super Bowl there were no crowds, we just couldn't get in to ESPN Club. I think they are more interested in that then Disney.

Having experienced WDW when the JAX superbowl was on I would say yes there will be big crowds with any superbowl in Florida -- I think its partly the "it's in the same state how far away could it be" mentality, and the fact that a lot of people from other areas of the country come and say "while we are on this side of the country, lets do WDW too". A 3-4 hour drive (because lets face it, no one goes 60mph on I95) doesn't seem like that much to get to do the Superbowl AND WDW.

I agree that the day of the superbowl crowds weren't so bad but the days before and after and the restaurants and hotels and parks were packed.
