Will special DVC park tickets be available again this year?

We are going in November and really hoping for the 4 day 4 park tickets!

Me too!!

Jumping onto the FL resident questions (and I'm sure this has been asked a million times...): Can my parents who are FL residents buy the discounted AP's for my husband and I? (I assume not.)

I'm pretty sure the State of FL cares about residency status.

for what?

FL doesn't charge income tax whether you are a FL resident or NC resident.

now, for example, NC cares if you claim FL residency but actually spend 90% of the year in NC...look up "domicile" issues on google and you can probably find some of the cases where they have pursued NC residents for income taxes who have falsely claimed FL residency...

FL residents cannot buy FL discount tickets for those outside their household.

if you are a DVC owner, you can get basically the same deal as a FL resident on APs.

Let's see...

Voter registration.

Local status for attending state colleges.

Want me to keep going?

without checking my notes, last time around the 4 day tix came out a few weeks before our annual first week of Oct trip.

I need to produce tix for GD & DL for a November trip. Going to wait until last minute jik. hopefully no price increases in the meantime lol

I agree with this. Think of how many Florida based TS there are and how many more millions of people could claim residency in FL.

I think FL cares

I think FL cares

1) FL does not care who qualifies for disney discounts (which is the point of the DVC contract language)
2) to the extent that FL does care who qualifies as a resident, what is stated in your timeshare contract will not ever be the binding qualifier

and this is already more than a little silly, but college residency requirements are administrated by the colleges themselves, not so much the state government:

When I was talking to Member services today, I was told to check this fall for the latest ticket special. She didn't know what it was, but said something was coming.

I spoke to MS last Sunday when switching point allocations around on existing reservations. Asked if any buzz as to another ticket promotion and told "not at this time...keep checking the website...". Good as any vague answer I suppose lol.

Last year's announced on September 9th (a Tuesday as I recall). I need to get tickets in place for family re early November trip, first day @ WDW would be on November 7th.

even though I know the chances of lightening striking twice, it would be nice to see an offer materialize soon. I just can't shake the feeling that I'll purchase tix for DIL & GD (only need 3 - 4 days for each plus party tix) and then within days discounted tix will be offered.

In that remote event, I suppose I could re-assign the unused tix and save the others to be upgraded to AP renewals but I have no idea if that would 'mess up' any already-booked FP+ or not.

I was hoping it would be soon. My FP day is quickly approaching and I don't want to buy tickets if the deal will be coming. I guess I'll practice patience for now, lol!

Could friends of dvc members use the $199 tickets?
Yes. Despite initial expectations, there was no verification when using the tickets. The DVC member could purchase them and give them to anybody.

Does anyone else find it a little surprising that with sales at the Poly (apparently) being relatively slow, that they haven't offered anything as easy and affordable as a ticket perk to entice sales? Just seems logical to me.

Too bad we (as DVC members) cannot get the seasonal pass, or the monthly payment plan. Both would be nice options!
I would love the pass that blocks out weekends and certain holidays. We almost never go into parks on a weekend. It would be perfect. I wonder if there is anyway to lobby for new pass options?

Looks like I will have to buy my AP vouchers as my fp+ time is coming up (November 1 trip). Too bad.

We're also going on Nov. 7th for a few days! We just moved our DS (only child) off to start his freshman year in college and DH found out he was going to go to a conference at Coronado Springs that week so I'm tagging along!! I just couldn't stand the thought of being home TOTALLY alone with DS gone!! We bought AP's last Feb. just before the last price increase and we activated them on our trip this summer. Since all we had to come up with was my airfare to / from it seemed like I should go. While I'm looking forward to going to F&W for the 1st time this will be our first trip without DS so I'm feeling like it's gonna be a lot different.

I can guarantee you that something will be announced soon, as I just had to purchase our renewals in order to schedule my fast passes (and still could only get SDMT for one night!!!!). I did ask the member services person what would happen if a better discount was announced after my purchase but before activation and she told me that something like that would be taken on a case-by-case basis.

I am just happy that we still get a discount on the AP's, as it is better than paying full price. I did downgrade from premium to regular...no need for water parks any more (too many stairs) and no Disney Quest....phooey.

I felt same way, especially when youngest DS headed off to college. Throughout that trip, and all subsequent ones, I can't tell you how many times I see something and it brings back a happy memory with my kids in the parks. I make a point to take a picture of their favorite Disney things and text it off to each of them. They text back to remind me to bring them their favorite treats back home.

Honestly, wasn't sure if I would enjoy Disney without a child in tow...we have managed to muddle thru nicely;). My kids are floored I no longer commando, having discovered the joys of lounging poolside with a long, cool adult beverage. PS - F&W is perfect 1st kids' free trip imo!

That said, I'll be doing another 180 this November. I'm over-the-top excited to have an upcoming "girls only" trip in November with GD & DiL. Have been put on notice we will be greeting the Disney dawn & closing down the parks:earseek:.
