Want to do something special to finish our last morning with..but not sure what??

I also know that I am going to need breaks everyday..but not sure we will want to trek back to the hotel..or if we did dd would even lay down for a nap. So we need to find a quiet spot to sit and relax. *any ideas??*

Thanks so much.

My dd is 3.5. We were in Disney World for 8 days, seven nights. I made sure she got back to the room at least once a day. We tried to lay down. Even if she didn't sleep, it wasn't the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. I found this to be essential if we wanted to try and see any night time parades or fireworks.

To finish off your trip, why don't you have a breakfast at Chef Mickeys? If you don't want to do another chracter meal, then save Toontown for the last day. We do this and then go in to say goodbye to Mickey before we leave.

The best piece of advice I can give you is to not plan every minute of your day. You don't seem to be doing that....good. It's a good idea to have at least one sit-down table service meal a day...with little ones, I prefer two of them since it also serves as a break. But one is pretty good. Will you be using a stroller? That will keep your adorable dd a little less tired out...especially in AK. That's a big, stretched out park, with a lot of walking. A stroller would be a good idea there.
When you are in Epcot, be sure to take the time to see some of the different countries 'story tellers'. They are really quite wonderful. Your dd will most likely be entranced with all the holiday lights after dark.
I believe there are play areas in most of the parks now. They can be great spots to just sit and let your kids run around and play....burn off some of the steam they all seem to build up. Also, will you and your dh be spending any time alone, and leaving dd with her loving grandparents back at the room? That might be a nice break for all of you. Your dd could go to sleep and you could have some grown-up time.
Just be sure to 'stop and smell the roses'. WDW isn't going anywhere....you can never do it all. I'm still doing new things after 8 trips. Take the time to appreciate it all through your dd's eyes. For me, that was one of the most magical things....seeing my dd, then 6, see Cinderella Castle for the first time. And usually...those magical moments are not the big, expected ones. So, keep your eyes open. And have a terrific trip. Let's hope for some nice weather then...I'll be there at the same time!!

since you are going at the slow time of year (are the park hours up yet?) if the days are short like usual imo going back to the resort is too much time wasted.. count on about 4 hrs at least between travel, rest ect which is way to much time when the park is only open 10 .imo you are better off going early and if you are tired leaving for the day in late afternoon or so). we do a sit down meal mid day to rest. even if you want to do cs, take your time and rest during it. ( we have always done this even when the girls were little, off season is way different in the "need to break at resort" regard as crowds and heat are minimal). in mk a nice rest spot is to the rt of the castle, across from cp, by the bridge to liberty sq. it's alittle garden area and has acouple benches in the shade.

epcot outside the imagination pavilion are some fun fountains you can sit by and watch and rest. england in ws has a nice garden area and benches kind of behind the stores.

ak, think there is a little area across from tusker house . also the shows get you off your feet for awhile.

mgm you can do the shows to rest.

i also would do the mono. ride after one of the mk days...otherwise you need to get to ttc from fw to get it, just a bit more of a pain. if you want to do something post hhdr, do the hayride( they used to have 2 but don't know if they still do)..it usually starts around 9:30 or so i think.( not sure what time the first hhd is out) or go to dtd that night. you could take the fw/cont. boat to get the mono also from hdd ( just remembered that)

did you want to save a day of the pass? ( wondering why you aren't using 1 of the days you bought)

if not last day i'd do cp or crt and then spend the morning at mk. i'd go to dtd after dinner one night or maybe on your arrival night rather than waste a whole morning there. ( usually mk closes around 7 so if you eat before that or do counter you can get to dtd pretty early.

if you want to save the pass do chef mickeys and ride the mono after that. you can also go through the mono circuit resorts then which is fun. then get the mono to epcot.( riding the mono is a big part of our tradition so we always do it as often as we can:flower: )

My experience is somewhat limited -- 2 visits with children (1st visit DD4 & DD1; 2nd DD6 & DD3)

The BEST thing we did was go back to the room EVERY day for a break. WE made sure we were at the parks when they opened, taking advantage of early openings when on site. The naps/rest/swim made a huge difference for eveyone's mental state (adult & children).

AFter a rest sometimes we'd go back to the Park and sometimes we didn't. It made for a much more relaxed holiday ... which of course is what it is supposed to be, and as my DW keeps reminding :earsboy:

My 2 cents worth.

Wow, thank you everyone.

I am thinking that we should take some sort of break as well. But was thinking the same as another poster..that it would take so long and with fewer hours the park is open..we would be wasting alot of time. I am thinking that MK first day..we will go into the park late..instead of taking a break. Anyone have any comments on this?? Since the park will be open until 11 pm that night.

Oh, and I had mentioned to hubby that we should do something solo one night..anyone have any ideas?? We aren't really pleasure Island people..and most likely we will have already eaten. Any ideas out there??
Thanks.

With my DD between the ages of 2 and 10, I never took her back to the room for a break, and rarely park hopped. I havent been in a good 4-5 years, but dd had a stroller until she was at least 8 or 9, and would conk out in it for a bit when she was tired. Epcot and AK are too huge to even think about not using a stroller. You will end up wishing you could get that treatment ;)

I only see one character meal. We try and do one a day so we don't have to stand in lines to see the characters. I agree that you should plan to spend a couple of hours a day in your room just to refresh yourself. At 3yrs old, parades are a big hit. I would try and see at least the spectro in the MK.

We have Three Character meals planned.

One @ Liberty Tree the first day with Minnie and whoever else, The next at Breakfastasaruas with Donald, Mickey and Goofy the AK day, and then CRT for Lunch with Princess' the last full day. :goodvibes My dd is the type that will probobly not be eating at the meals the characters are at..b/c of all the excitement. So we wanted to make sure she was fed at least a couple of good meals that week. LOL

My parents came along for part of our April trip so DH and I had a free night. We had no clue what to do so decided to just hop on the first bus that pulled up at our resort (Epcot, MGM or DTD.) We ended up having a great time going on a couple rides DD4 and DS2 were too young for and then poking around in some of the shops without kids (ended up at MGM.)

Also, you may want to find some reviews on Pizza Planet. I was really excited about taking my Toy Story loving kids there and dragged my poor parents along. Even at 11, we waited FOREVER for lousy pizzas (we eat Chuck E Cheese and Little Ceasars often and Pizza Planet was BAD) and were very disappointed with the restaurant overall. I thought it would be more movie themed but it was basically a cheap-looking arcade. Worst meal of our trip!

This is really good advice. I plan to not be rushed. We know the things we want to do and will schedule those. The rest we will just play by ear.
