Will scorcerer pass have same dec 2022 blackout dates.

I know I can’t use pass fir NYE.

But I am planning to go next December 10-17 2022.
I’m thinking 12/17 might not be ok?

We won't know until Disney announces the blockout dates, but Friday Dec. 17, 2021 (through Saturday, January 1, 2022) is blocked out, so it's very likely that Saturday Dec. 17, 2022 will be blocked out as well. I'd plan for it to be blocked out on 12/17/22 and then hope to be pleased if it's not.

I'm not completely sure what you mean, but if you mean will the blockout start on Friday Dec. 16, 2022, I'm not sure - it may start on Friday the 17th this year because of Christmas being on a Saturday and not start until Saturday the 17th next year because Christmas will be on Sunday. I have no idea how Disney decides these things, but it may have to do with projections of school holidays and vacation time, and I don't have access to whatever data they're using to make their decisions. I'm pretty sure you can count on Saturday Dec. 17, 2022 being blocked out, but I have no idea about Friday the 16th.

Correct, if you buy an AP today online or via phone, it won't be activated until you use it. You'll have to visit GR or a ticket booth and show them your photo ID and your DVC member card, before you can use it to enter a park.

The typical time is usually mid December until January 1st that is blocked. I’d plan for similar.

Yes. So that’s a good sign it will be open in 2023.

Wow, I just checked - Saturday Jan. 1, 2022, is a blockout date for Gold APs (which we have) but not for Sorcerer APs. I'm surprised to find they're different (thought it was simply Thanksgiving vs. Easter), and now I also see that Friday Dec. 17, 2021 is a blockout date for Gold APs but not for Sorcerer. I would expect the 2022-2023 blockout dates to follow the Sorcerer pattern for 2021-22, but with Disney you never know until they announce it officially.

I think they have time since we already have dates through October 2022. Probably don’t need to know about Thanksgiving 2022 for a few more weeks as that is when passes activated this year would be valid.

Not sure when they normally release them.

I'm also planning to go during the estimated block out dates in Dec 2022, so waiting on which AP to purchase. If I get the Sorcerer pass (for other non blockout trips in 2022) with photopass add-on, would the photopass still work during the black out dates? I would have park tickets for those black out dates.

Yes. I have had family there during times when my AP was blocked, and I got their pictures so it definitely worked.
