Will restaurants do anything special for a guest's first visit?

I'm taking some first-timers down in January. Is there any point in letting Disney Dining know that it will be their first trip? If not, is there anything that a restaurant can do if I contact them directly in advance or let the restaurant know when we arrive?

I already know about the menus & diver at the Coral Reef, but I was thinking of Chef Mickey's, CRT, or other MK/close to MK restaurant. Alternatively, I suppose we could head to the Coral Reef on our arrival night but that would be less convenient.

Figure a good percentage of Disney guests are on their first visit...

Disney treats all its guests special. Just sit back and enjoy, and you'll have a great time!

You could order a "Welcome to Disney" cake for them. That would make them feel special. My suggestion would be to read the 1st page, then jump to the last page & work you way back.

At any given meal, probably half the people in the restaurants are first-timers. They can't do something for all of them.

Disney is very hit-or-miss about doing something even when you tell them about a special occasion like an anniversary or birthday. They view those special little goodies as 'pixie dust', not something you expect.

If there's an event that you want recognized, the only way to guarantee that 'something' is done is to arrange it and pay for it yourself.

Why not take this into your own hands and do something special for your friends. If the divers are still happening when you go (I heard they may not be soon?), having a special sign made for them, or asking for a special "Welcome to your First Trip to WDW!" menus made for them would be great.

And I second the idea of ordering a special cake, or maybe having a balloon bouquet ordered with a card to welcome them to their hotel room upon arrival!

So many great things you could do to make their visit a little more magical!! Don't rely on a "maybe" when you could do a "FER SURE!"
