Think we will be staying at POP next May with family. We stayed at POR this May & loved it. As a couple who like pretty landscaping & some peace & quiet, will we be sorry that we stayed at POP? Sister says it doesnt' bother her if we stay at different resorts but I feel funny about that. POR just had a nice sence of peace to it. I need a little "quiet time" after the parks sometimes. Any opinions on the resort & maybe a building I should request. Any thoughts are apprieciated.

You've stayed at All Star resorts before...it's pretty much the same. We did feel POP was more crowded then ASMo but it is bigger. It was also during free dining and the main pool at ASMo was being refurb'ed. It should pretty much be the same experience you had at the AS resorts, IMO.

Our experience was dissapointing. It just never grew on us especially since there were problems with the room (smoke related) I also like lots of greenery and a peaceful resort. There isnt half as much greenery there, but the reosrt is brightly colored. I personally did not like the room decor which was grey and muted colors. I tried to like the resort, but couldnt. The food court was good and I liked the check in area. I didnt like the bowling pin pool and did not use the Hippy Dippy pool because it was a bit busy. Other people have had excellent experience. Its just not my cup of tea and it is the first Disney resor I have not liked. I prefer the AllStars for value resorts. They just seem more Disney to me.

i haven't stayed at pop just drove past it, and that was enough for me. i too like relaxing and it just looked loud and crazy, some people like that excitment and energy on vacation. but if peace you seek after the parks, i don't think you will find it there.

good luck in your choice..have a great trip!

i've stayed at POP before. i wouldn't label it as peaceful. if you want some sort of quiet effect, ask for a room not facing a pool. it seems like there are always loud children splashing around at all hours of the day. the walls are also very thin. i could hear families in rooms next to us getting ready in the mornings if we decided to sleep in for a bit. it's not a bad resort, but if you're looking for peace and quiet, this wouldn't be my top choice.

I was very hesitant to try POP after staying at Wilderness Lodge and POR. However, we had the best time there, liked it way more than POR. It has such a fun atmosphere, but it is not crazy wild.

POP is actually way more tropical than it appears in pictures. I was worried that it would not be "pretty", but there is a lot of beautiful landscaping. To me, it was soooo Disney and had that magical feel to it. The bus service was very good too, I was so worried after POR, which to us was horrible.

We have been to Wilderness Lodge twice and are trying the Poly this summer. However, we will absolutely go back to POP. It is such a great value. If you are worried about noise, request a room on the 4th floor. That is where we stayed and we didn't hear anyone.

Whether you will eb disappointed or not depends upon your expectation. Expect MUCH less landscaping and garish colors both in the rooms and the resort overall. The food court is big and NOISY and can be absolute bedlam. You've stayed at AS, so you have the general idea, but Pop is larger and hence more people and more noise in the common areas. I've not had a problem with room noise in my 3 stays there, but I always request a 3rd or 4th floor room. If you get a lake view, it is even more quiet. If you use the quiet pools at the moderates, you are in for a shock at Pop as both pools are usually full and there is no deep end and hence no way to swim away from smaller ones taht you amy find annoying. I DO like Pop, like I said, I've stayed there three times in teh last 3 years, but it is not going to have teh adult "feel" of a moderate (or even ASMusic.)

My wife and I stayed at Pop at the end of October last year. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was more than fine! It won't be as quiet as POR, but really, what resort is?

We almost always stay at a moderate or the Dolphin Resorts. However, if we want to stick in an extra vacation or two we usually stay at Pop. We have no problem at all with Pop and have stayed there MANY times. The area that faces the lake is ususally a pretty quiet area. Also, we always take a break after lunch and go to the pool and at that time we can say that there were hardly anyone at the pool. We're staying at Pop in Sept. w/the dining plan.
We enjoy Pop.

Pop actually has three pools.

While none of them are deep, the main pool has an area for small children that's reasonably separate from the main pool.

The resort is a lot of fun, but peaceful isn't a good description. You're better off not facing a pool. The pools get noisy with swimmers, and they play music there during the day.

iv stayed at both many times...they are both vaslue pretty much the same rooms..but pop is the biggest resort of all of them..its 4 floors..so you got an elevator wait issue in the morning..the food court is packed all the time..its a lot of walking if yiou get the out back..but it is a must stay and see resort..allstar is smaller but its got its buisy times azs well.,,why not split it up we just came back from pop ,,for 3 days and allstar sports for 3 days..if you donnt mind the move mid week.

Our experience at POP has been different from the post above. We have stayed at all different times of the year, and rarely found the food court "packed." Sometimes we have had to look for a seat but we've always found one. The elevator has never been a problem either. Two of our trips to POP have been during very busy times, Christmas and Easter.

As far as walking to the food court, we found the walk from our room at POR to be longer.

We love the Polynesian and would stay there each time of we could, but POP is a terrific alternative for a value trip!

We have stayed at POP and POR. They are very different. POP was a fun resort for the kids-they loved the themeing, colors and everything. But for the parent it is very big, loud and involves alot of walking(at least to the building we were in). We stayed off season, but cannot imagine it when it was full-it would be crazy!!! We had no problems with our room-the mousekeeping did a great job!!!
POR is just so pretty and peaceful. If I could only stay at POP in order to do WDW then I would stay there, BUT if 'I' had a choice it would be POR out of those two resorts. You will have a great time where ever you stay!!! Good luck!!!
