Will people sell their Vero points?

No Way! We won't sell. I would think that Vero at this point should be Hurricane proof for the rest of it's existance. Being that it was just hit twice within a few weeks. I would be of the opinion that the likely-hood of these series of events happening again in anyone's lifetime would be nil. Not to mension that the resort survived... not escaped, but survived. I can't wait to be back at the "Ultimate" Disney resort - VB!!!

I wouldn't anticipate a sharp rise in dues either. There are previsions for such events (I.e. Acts of God, Hurricanes, etc.)

Plus as a bonus, we're that much closer to the ocean now!!!! (couldn't resist)

Ok... all for now. Be there in May!

We love VB.... IMHO, there are risks no matter where you live or vacation... In Michigan, we have blackouts, blizzards, and tornados... In Washington state right now, they are talking about Mount St. Helens... California has earthquakes and the midwest has wildfires.

All the more reason to live in New England. :p Don't want to sound like I'm bragging...ok I am. :smooth: Worse we get is a little snow in the winter, and that's about it. Last hurricane that made any kind of impact on us here in RI was back in 54. Many say we are due, but I doubt it. Time will tell. Weather patterns seemed to have changed, and the "big heat" engines meteorologist talk about being important to hurricane life is just not present this far north any longer.

All this attention to VB has made me want to go there now. We originally bought there because of the incentive DVC was offereing when it was selling out. We had NO intention of ever visiting, but now looking at the location, and some of the area things to do. I am definately planning to visit next year some time. Maybe even in "hurricane season". I figure one of the best ways to support those that make our vacations so enjoyable would be to spend our money there.

VB was already far more available comparatively and at a cheaper price than anything else. I'm sure some people will decide to sell, especially if they were thinking about it anyway. I also agree it may be a good time to pick up some points but that $60 pp is about the max reasonable price.
