Will not stay at Poly again

There is no time that everyone will find acceptable. That is the problem. Some people would be angry about it at 10 am.

While true, most people would find this as an acceptable time of day, it may still impact guests, but it is a more appropriate time.

This morning SSR was blowing the landscaping and pressure washing the sidewalks as was BWV, I think that it's a standard every day function. Just got woken up from my nap by the Epcot fireworks and they were very loud, must be the cloud cover.

this post is interesting because we were directly above you in rm 2036 thanksgiving week and I didn't hear anything in the morning at all. I did hear the boat horn late at night though but nothing that really bothered us. Not sure if it was that we were on floor 2 ? We also stayed in June on the first floor and had no noise issues. My DH is fairly noise sensitive and he didn't have any complaints. I'm sorry your stay wasn't enjoyable! Maybe try a different floor or building?

Good point it was around 7:30 at SSR I was walking to the bus stop they were washing the front area in front of the elevators. BWV was later, maybe 8:45.

We stayed on the 3rd floor Morea building. Yes those landscapers were loud and truthfully we could not hold a conversation on our balcony while they were out there. Everyday 6:45 - 10a. We were so happy for rain one morning!!!

We stayed at Concierge once, other than hearing the once in a while blower or mower(seems to be the norm around WDW resorts)we weren't bothered by any excessive noise. I have experienced noises of all kinds at all resorts there. From chainsaws at VWL, too pressure washers at the values. But I have too look at it like this...these things have to be done to maintain the experience we all have grown accustomed too. So as annoying as it can be, even in the values, I know I am getting the better place too stay vs. Motel 6 or even a 3-4 star hotel offsite.
I am sorry you had a bad experience, hope your next one is better no matter where you stay.

Can you imagine this happening if you were staying at the Four Seasons in Maui for example? At the price point they are charging, this is insane.

Well, it's not the Four Seasons in Hawaii. I have different expectations for them. This is a Disney Timeshare. Obviously they have to start work some time. What time do you think is acceptable?

Most of us will agree that Disney hotels, while expensive, are not really luxury hotels. And I would wager that most people staying at a Four Seasons resort aren't expected to be up and going early in order to make ADRs or to be in a theme park riding rides.

Sorry OP had poor experience. We were in 2028 on 12/1 & 12/2. (2nd fly LV). I did not notice any early morning noise. My DH mentioned it, but said it wasn't all that loud & he didn't find it bothersome.

We did hear ferry horns, but to me they were part of the resort's ambiance. Slept just fine. YMMV.

P.S. We live in the city.

Actually, I can imagine this happening at the Four Seasons in Maui, and here's someone complaining about it in this link! I'm just saying that complaints do happen everywhere (not that it is acceptable to be woken up at 6 am by anything other than emergency maintenance anywhere!)

I never associate Disney vacations and quiet, because if I do I am going to be disappointed. People are coming and go at all hours. Some stay late for extra hours and come back to the hotel running the halls and being loud. Then you have the early risers that want to get there for rope drop. Due to that Disney has to be even earlier to get the beach prepared for those that are up early and out.

Actually for the amount they charge, I have EXACTLY the same expectations. But hey, if you are willing to accept sub-par service, that's on you. I for one would be the first one on the phone complaining.

As someone who has some inside knowledge of the maintenance operations at WDW (I work for a Union that represents some of the workers) I can tell you that the workers are not taking their own initiative working at the crack of dawn doing noisy work and wanting to disrupt guests sleep.

I actually found the fireworks from MK to be pretty noisy. So if you have little ones you are putting to bed, you may want to check the fireworks schedule too.

I agree, it was odd to look out and see the MK fireworks going off, hearing the booms without the music soundtrack.

We start our summer crew (road work) at 6 am. Some products are easier to work with when it is not Un-Godly hot. Plus it is easier to get certain things done when there is no traffic.

We stayed at VGF (standard views) at the end of September and there was only 1 morning when we heard landscaping equipment prior to 7 a.m. Disney or not, I think prior to 7a.m. would annoy me.

You didn't say what time you thought was OK to start. And you can't just compare price. It's like complaining that the $9 hot dog at the movie theater doesn't taste as good as the one you make at home.
