Will new 8AM MK start throw off my entire touring plan?

This!! I've just discovered this will affect our Wednesday MK day in June. We have a 8:05 a.m. CP ADR. Right now it still shows Friday of that week opening at 9 a.m. How likely is it for that to change?

Unlikely to change to 8AM at this point, but you never know.

I think it stinks that Disney pushes all this pre-planning but then changes the hours when they have to know it messes up all those that followed Disney's plan and did all the pre-planning!!

I agree but in Disney's mind they don't see the issue. They don't think that people book ADR before the park opens to get a jump on touring or track that their parks are less busy the first two hours so those that do get there have an advantage. They think they are doing good by giving folks an extra hour of park time. I've never followed other brand's park openings at other parks but I think the others set times for the season and leave them alone. Not counting EMH or stuff like that, just official operating hours. I do not understand why they can't do that and stop moving them around.

Plus, sometimes they change them so last minute folks don't even know they got changed. Those are more rare but they do happen. What good does that do? I imagine it's frustrating for the employees too.

TV Mom, when are you going? I am in July and BOG lunch and dinner has opened up a lot over the past week.

Our MK days are June 10 and 12 (Wed and Fri.) Too bad they aren't changing the Friday hours.

yep I'm going in 10 days and they changed the park dates 2 days ago!! :(
will probably cancel my ADR now.

We had a similar dilemma this past Thanksgiving week. Since we had 2 MK days scheduled, we kept our CRT. It pained me to miss that prime touring time, but once we were in there, I pushed it out of my mind and enjoyed the experience. We made the best use of our fastpasses and got to do everything we had originally planned. So, I say if you have another MK day, keep it! Especially if you can't move it later.

Our family will also. And since we plan CS for the rest of the day, I guess we will save some money!

I still say it stinks for those families that have no idea that Disney has changed the time for RD, will start the day thinking they are doing good and will be a small step ahead of the masses, only to find out the morning of that while they are sitting having breakfast that the lines are building with the masses having a jump on them.

I think the best advice from now on is book that 8AM ADR but don't do it if it's a must have meal. Chances of a later ADR are slim if they change park hours late in the game and it sucks to be stuck deciding between a desired ADR and missing park opening. Only book 8 AM ADR on either a day you are ok with a late start or with a meal you are ok with missing.

So does anyone have any idea that if you have an 8:05 ADR, with an 8 a.m. RD, would they let those guest in before RD or will everyone have to wait until RD? I wonder if anyone has any experiences with this?
