Will my little boys like CRT?

I'm planning our first ever trip to the world, and according to DH after getting the cost of the trip, we probably won't be back for some time! So, I'm trying to fit in anything I think young kids would find magical. My boys will be 7, 5, and 2 when we go, and at least right now, the older two distain anything princess. We got the new Cinderella DVD free from Disney in the mail, and they refuse to open it...cooties might come out. They love the traditional Disney characters, love Pooh and friends, love pirates, love Peter Pan, but currently have zero interest in getting princess signatures, etc. So I decided long ago no CRT for us! But now I think maybe when they got there, they'd like to see the inside of the castle and would definitely think it's cool to eat in it. And maybe when they get there the princesses will be interesting to meet. Who knows? So should I write poor Cindy off, or try for a ADR when my time window opens up?

BTW, we will have ADRs for Chef Mickey and Crystal Palace. Maybe Garden Grill as well.

I think they's like 'Ohana's character breakfast better with Lilo and Stitch. It already sounds like two of them hate the princesses so why waste time and money going to CRT?

I am taking my both of my boys ages 4 and 6 to CRT. Both children told me that they did not really want to go, but after asking my younger son who had previously said he would like to go, why he did not want to go now, he said in a whisper "I want to go, but don't tell DJ (dd 6)" . So if you think one of your children might like it I say go ahead no one's trip has ever been ruined because they had to eat with Cindy.

IMO the only reason to go through the hassel and spend that price is to get access to the Princesses. WDW is magicaly enough as it is...they'll be overjoyed by most of it.

My suggestion would be to do the Crystal Palace breakfast. You can still get into MK early, the Winnie the Pooh characters are great, the food is fine, there is a beautiful view of the castle, and it costs almost 1/2 the price of CRT.

We ate there last trip and my 7yo DS wants to go again. He hates princesses, but he loves knights, armour, castles and swords. He refused to have pictue taken with Cinderella, but he loved the castle. It was like a life sized Lego Knight's Kingdom for him.

Just wanted to add that the food is also much better at 'Ohana then at CRT. Personally I would never go to CRT for the food anyway. We didn't care for the food at all but DDs wanted to see the princesses again. That will be our last time.

There are lots of boys at CRT, the Princess are atuned to who they can fuss over and who the strong silent type.

My son was 6 when we last went and he spent nearly the entire breakfast under the table. It was funny but not too pleasant for him. My daughter was 4 at the time and she had enough fun that it was worth borderline torturing him I think it's a lot of money when it's a good bet that they won't like it. I really enjoyed the castle but there again my son was somewhat interested but once he saw teh princesses he was through. Aladdin was also there that day but by the time he came around my son was not interested and was just ready to go. He didn't really actively dislike teh princesses the attention from them just made him nervous. All that said we are going back in a few weeks but he has said at 8 now that they won't bother him this time but he isn't going to talk to them either.

I have 2 boys, 8 and almost 2.
We just went to WDW in Dec and I knew that older DS would NOT like eating with Preincesses.
We did, although, go eat at CRT in the Castle (which he just LOVES) for Dinner. There are no characters there, so you still get the excitement of the Castle. That is what I would suggest for you. And, we DID have good food while there.
Plus, we also took them to Crystal palace and Ohana's for Breakfasts....they loved both of those.
BUT, there is just something about eating IN the Castle. And, it is not quite as difficult to snag an ADR for Dinner as compared to Bfast and Lunch!!!

We have both a DD & DS, so, last year, we did two princess meals (breakfast at CRT & dinner at PSB, Norway) & then also did the "Pooh & Friends" character meal at Crystal Palace in the MK, Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, & Liberty Tree Tavern w/ Goofy & Minnie in the MK.

When asked what their favorite meal was, both my 6 year old DD & my 4 year old son both say breakfast in the castle.

Our daughter was dressed at Tinkerbell & our son was dressed as Peter Pan. All the princesses (especially Wendy from Peter Pan) made a huge fuss over him.

Snow White was the best, though. When Snow White came to our table, my husband told her that she had waved to our son in one of the parades. And she said, "Oh, yes, I remember you!" She then looked at me to see if I had my camera ready & then whispered something in my son's ear. And then gave him a kiss on his cheek - leaving her lipstick print. My son's face was priceless!! He actually blushed a little & got this huge grin on his face.

My almost 4-year old little boy fell completely in love w/ Snow White!

And, all day long, he walked around w/ Snow White's kiss on his cheek!

So, I would say, as long as you're doing some other character meals, yes, definitely book CRT. I think, sometimes, that the princesses pay even more attention to the little boys than they do to the girls. LOL! This year, even though CRT has increased to 2 TS credits, we're going again - this time for lunch. And, I'm just hoping & praying that Snow White is there when we are!

Princesses aside, it's just really fun & special to eat in the castle! Like someone else said, the decor really appeals to boys too - knights & swords...

My ds 9 did not want anything to do with CRT on our Dec trip but since the girls did he had to go. He had the most fun of all just because he was really into the castle itself. Though, I do have a great picture of someone with an adoring look at Belle... The food wasn't what I had hoped but oh well, future trips we will skip. If you haven't done it..why not. If you have, go with Crystal Palace or Ohana both were great food and really good character interation with no Princess's to be found and not a single cootie!

I have not done CRT but i took 4 kids to 1900 Park Fair for dinner with Cinderella there were 2 boys and 2 girls( 2 are mine and 2 are a friend's) the boys were nearly 5 and 6 and they really liked it. No complaints of being with the princesses, no hiding. They seemed to like being called my prince. They were both very used to Disney and have seen princesses before. MY DS goes 2-3 times a year and my friend's son lives in Orlando.
