Hi! What is the pool like at the Dolphin? Will the water be warm in Feb.? Will by DD5 have a life jacket to use?

The pool is gorgeous; like a tropical grotto with slide. My kids loved it. Yes there are life jackets. The pool will be heated but, it may be too cold to swim in Feb anyway.

My kids thought it was wonderful....but I would also say it depends on the outside temperature....my kids swam in Dec when it was 75 outside....

Your kids will love the Grotto Pool! It's like a tropical playground!

It's hard for my kids not to swim, regardless of the weather! If the main free-form pool is a little too cool, try out the "spring pool" which is seperated but looks kind of connected. It's a lot warmer and it's not as deep.

Our 3 ds loved the pool in Aug, they did however say compared to the Polynesian pool they thought the dolphin pool slide was lame, not fast enough, too short of a ride etc. I must also say that I found the lifeguard to be very inattentive. I am glad all my guys are very good swimmers. I would say if the weather cooperates and they go swimming keep a very good eye on them. The complex is huge with like 3 connecting pool areas , my ds spent time alot in the one that had the water volleyball, dh and I were by the waterfall area, I did find that area to be cooler than the rest. There is only 1 lifeguard to watch that whole area and his chair was put in such a way he cannot physically or visually cover all the area at once. So just keep on top of things, The pool is at least 5 deep in alot of places. Lounge chairs are plentiful and they have a pool bar. We actually brought our own snacks and gatorade, then we saw a sign that said no food on the pool deck. But no one said anything to us. I was annoyed that there seems to be a great deal of people smoking. This is not good for our one ds asthma. Even if you cant swim the beach play area itself is great and sure liking for the kids. Where else can you play in the sand in feb. etc.

The towel shacks have life vests and IIRC they are complimentary but you may have to leave a deposit. My girls love the grotto pool but it can be cool even though its heated. I think its just the size that keeps it cooler than normal. They absolutely loved the "spring pool" its smaller and warmer and not quite as deep.
