Will my kids like POR?

We took our first family vacation to WDW last November and stayed at the WL and absolutely fell in love with Disney World.

We want to surprise the kids with another trip this coming December (it will be a Christmas morning surprise). Anyway, we've already got a Disney cruise booked for March of 2009, so we want to do this trip a little cheaper than last years.

My dh and I were thinking about staying at POR this time. But I was just doing some reading, and got the impression it maybe isn't the best resort for kids.

My kids will be ds9 and dd7 at the time of the trip. For people who have gone with kids and stayed there, do you recommend it as a resort for us? We absolutely loved the Wilderness Lodge. And we will have our own car, so transportation isn't quite as important.

We stayed at POR 2 years ago and my kids who were 9 1/2, 7, and almost 4 absolutely loved it! We'll be at POFQ next week [my Mom's coming with us making 2 rooms a necessity so we thought we'd try something that we, as a family of 5, normally couldn't!] and my kids are not too keen on trying a new place! It's a wonderful resort and I think you'll enjoy it!

Never stayed at WL, but was at POR 11/07. My kids 6 and 4 loved it. They loved the water slide, the food court, boat ride to DD, campfire with marshmallows, pirate cruise, hair wraps at dockside, and piano player bob in the lounge. We even rented a pontoon boat for an hour one day and cruised the river to DD(not able to dock though) with just our family. I would recommend POR to any family.

I wouldn't hesitate to book at POR. lYou will not be walking down hallways to get to your room and dining, you will be walking outside, so that will be a little different for your kids.
