What are the odds of more rooms opening up with the 40% off code? Do they release more if they don't sell enough? I booked AKL for the end of September and I really wanted CL so we could do the safari with the kids, but it's not available with the code . . . it is without, so I booked the first 2 nights for CL without the code and then did a week after at the 40% off rate, but I would like to get the whole time CL.

Does anyone know how room releases work with these codes? I tried several different dates for CL at AKL and nothing is available with the code. Since it's still pretty far away I'm hoping something will become available :confused3

They only release so many room types for each code and I would guess CL at AKL sold out quick if it was available. Keep checking-people do cancel. We could only get MK View at the Poly when we first booked and then Garden View became available for a lot less $$. I continue to check for GVCL, which is what I really want but I'm not getting my hopes up at this point.

Good luck! :)

Generally No they don't.They only have so many rooms blocked for each promotion. If they have cancellations there is some debate that those rooms aren't even re-released into the discount pool. Not sure how true that is.

I disagree. With 9+ months in advance, is very hard to predict occupancy other than by looking at current reservations and historical data.

When you get closer to the period, reservations will be canceled out and not that many new ones be made, then in order to increase occupancy, new offers or additional rooms can be made available under a particular promotion.

For example, look at this past fall. In August, discount packages are out. Later, due to lack of occupancy, DVR holders get a promo with free dining.

Still, in November, there was availability under the code. I had an rez. done. Last minute (early Dec.) I decided to swap resorts. Only way to accomplish this if there would be availabilty. Lo and behold, there was: Free dining and 15% discount on the room on a mod. (CSR). CRO was surprised...

My .02...

Where does everyone find these codes?? Any chance they'll be released for the moderates? (Or will deluxes be as cheap as moderates?)

I have been hoping to switch our AKL to CL. I talked to a CM today and that is exactly what she told me. Even if there are cancellations they won't be re-released at the discounted rate.
Of course, you know how the accuracy of info. goes.

What? You don't want the 2 bedroom suite that is CL? They were glad to offer me that. :rotfl: Would be nice :cloud9:

I received 2 pincodes in my email from disney....I think after signing up for the planning dvd on their website.
the promotion says the code is good for 40% off of the room portion of select value resorts so I called into wdw reservations and was given the following info:
code is good for ALL resorts
code must be redeemed by the receiver only and
the code is good for up to 3 rooms

we normally stay at POR in mid Oct so we can attend MNSSHP but we thought we'd try something different this time and go the weekend after thanksgiving so that we can see the xmas decorations.
However, I am worried about:
A.) the weather that time of year (oct has been VERY warm while there)
B.) trying out POP after staying at POR (noise, crowds, food court selections)

Any thoughts?

I was not very impressed with Pop Century. It seems like alot of people love it though.

Just a couple of more questions
1) What weeks is the code valid?
2) If I just signed up for the planning DVD now, will I receive the code?? Thanks, everyone!

We have stayed at Pop a few times last year. We liked our first stay better in the 50's building. (2nd stay in the 70's bldg.)
I would not hesitate to stay there again. For a value we liked it pretty well.
