Will Magic Bands work before check-in?

Ill be staying off property our first night in FL. We have an 11:30 lunch ressie in the magic kingdom the next day. I know our room wont be ready until later, so do we still check in at the resort, or can we go directly to the MK for lunch with the MB that we'll get in the mail (we've done online check in already)?

As long as you've done online check in, you will be able to use your Magic Bands for park entry, free parking, dining credits, etc.

Thanks for being smart enough to ask this question! We're in the same situation, didn't occur to me I could go straight to the park if we checked in online! Awesome....
