Thinking about booking a cruise next year and the dates I was looking at was September 2nd-6th, for the actual cruise. But I am now wondering if the tickets for the flight down to Florida would be significantly higher with the Labor Day holiday being on September 7th? Flight down there, September 1st and flight back, September 6th. Any ideas?

Glad you changed. To answer your question: yes the flights are expensive at that time.
We travel right around that time because of school and adjust to earlier dates when Labor Day is earlier. Although the days right after are very cheap.

We've gone to WDW over Labor day weekend a lot over the last 20 years. I don't ever think we've payed over $300 from Chicago. I would guess if you are patient you would be able to book for under $300 as well. I would set some Google price alerts now and if prices drop to where you are comfortable you can snag them.

We book almost 100% of our flights as one ways. That way if one leg gets cheap you can book that and then wait for the other leg to cheapen as well. We are going the 4th thru 8th of Labor Day weekend and I've already locked in the flight there with miles. Now just waiting for the flight home to get to where I want them.
