Will July 5th be as bad as July 4th?

I know the 5th is the official bank holiday this year - do you think the parks will be as packed as the 4th?

I was planning to go to Sea World on the 5th to avoid lines but if Disney institutes the Extra Magic Hour along the same lines as May, all the plans will have to change. Bottom line is that I'll probably have to go to MGM - I will get there early (45 minutes before opening), leave at noon and return 5/5.30.

Will be MGM be bearable?

You have a good starting plan by arriving early.Combine that with fast pass and you should be ok.That said I would say that MGM handles large crowds worse than other major parks. When it's crowded at MGM you feel and see the crowd more. This is my opinion and others may give you some more advice.I don't think the 5th will be as busy as the 4th.With the 4th being on Sunday this year many will get the 5th as a paid holiday. So again in my opinion this means crowds will larger than any other Monday in July. You will have a great time just arrive early, use fast pass and be flexible in touring plans.:wave2: :goodvibes :wizard:

July 4th of course is always packed and I would guess they will be crowded the 5th also, since it is a legal holiday. In the past I noticed a lot of people start checking out on the 5th or 6th. WDW is still crowded, but not as bad as the 4th.::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

I've been told by CMs that the 4th gets a lot of local people, so hopefull that means the 5th would be less crowded.

I'd guess there will be a lot of locals in the parks on the 5th, too. The 4th is a Sunday and everyone will have the 5th off. Tourists like me will most likely be crowding the airport on the 5th.

Its not ideal but I will probably brave MGM on the 5th. I like it, but its my least favourite park (included Universal Studios) so if I miss a few things I won't be too cut up.

Also, I am hoping there may be a second Fantasmic showing - I haven't seen it yet so maybe the 5th is a good idea.

We've been wondering the same thing. We haven't decided our plans for the 5th so we'll be watching this thread for helpful info.

This year, it just might be. July 5 is the official "Monday holiday," which means that locals who decided to avoid the massive crowds of the 4th may use this day to visit the parks (since all the "long weekenders" will be leaving).

We decided to use the week before the 4th to get our park time in and spend the 4th and 5th at the Poly just relaxing and resting before heading home on the 6th.

Lets the crowds go to the park. I'm sending DW and DS8 to tea at GF while DD7 and I spend some quality time in a water mouse.pirate:
