Will it be tough to book BWV in May?

Hi! I'm starting to plan our anniversary trip..we want to go to vero beach may 3-5 then from the 5-12 stay at BWV? If I call at the 7th month mark do you think I will have problems getting it? We will just need a Studio because it will just be the 2 of us.

Also we never rented a car....is it a pain?

On your renting a car, I'd suggest calling a few rental companies to determine their requirements. Somethings which come to mind:
- I think all rental companies have age restrictions. For many I think you need to be 25.
- Driving record: I think they do a quick check on your driving record. They could deny your rental based on this
- Credit: You need to have a valid credit card to rent. If you use a debit card they put a huge hold on your account.

You may want to check with your insurance company. Mine has special deals for car rentals and some requirements, like age, are lowered.

If you are still worried about rental, it might be worth the expense to make a reservation with your desired company at a site near your home and rent for a day to make sure it will work out.

While your chances of a BW view or a standard view are probably not going to happen for that length of a trip, you should be able to get a preferred view room. May has never been a problem getting in anywhere, however, since I avoid holidays, I can't say what Memorial Day weekend is like.

I booked a preferred view studio at the Boardwalk at the 7 month mark in 2006 - my dates were May 7 - 12. I booked day to day, though I don't know that it was really necessary. BTW - my studio was on the 3rd floor, with a huge balcony and overlooked the Village Green. I could see part of the Boardwalk (towards ESPN) and had a nice view of Illuminations. I was very pleased!
