Will it be hard to book BCV at 7 mo window for May?

Just wondering if it will be difficult to get availability for a 1 bdrm or 2 bdrm BCV the first week of May? We are hoping to rent points, and I have found someone willing to rent points right now, but the price is a little higher that I was hoping for (please don't flame me! I have no problem with a member charging whatever they want. ) I'm wondering if I wait until the 7-month window, if:

1. people might be renting their points at a lower price (closer to the $10 & $11 I have been seeing on the rent/trade board), and

2. will there be any availability left at BCV.

Or, should I bite the bullet and rent the points now (and not look back! ).

We go the beginning of May very frequently and often book at BCV at the 7 month window. Sometimes we've been waitlisted, but so far its always come through for us.

For this past May (Mother's Day weekend), we got a 2-bedroom at five months out.

I think the real question is -

How much is your peace of mind worth?

In May, a 5 day (in on Sunday & out on Friday) BCV vacation in a one bedroom is 140 points and in a 2 bedroom it's 170 points. Is knowing you have your reservation nailed down worth the extra $$? If not, will you be OK renting points for a stay at OKW or SSR instead? Or just staying elsewhere for cash?

Most owners will not tie up their points for a renter who wants to use a waitlist.

That said, I personally do not think you will have a problem getting a 1 bedroom in early May at the 7 month window. I have no idea if someone will rent you points at $10 each if you wait - if I had to guess, I'd say chances are in your favor, though.

Thanks so much for everyone's responses! I think I will sit down with my DH tonight and discuss our options.

I have to say, since I have started hanging out on the DVC boards, I have run into the most kind people so far on the DISBoards! Everyone has been so helpful and willing to answer all my questions.
