Hi

after reading the thread about stroller being strollen:( i decided i really don't want to leave my backpack unattended in the stroller

i keep all important things on me in my pouch but i leave raincoats, snacks and drinks in the back pack and i really don't want this to go missing either

are you allowed to bring back packs on rides??- can i put under my seat- i don't want to wait in line and then finally get up front to have the CM tell me i can't bring the back pack on the ride:(

thanks

unless it's like hiking sized or something you'll be fine. we bring a backpack every trip and carry it on all rides -- even rnrc and tot. :)

No problem--grab it and go! On the calm rides you can hold it and on the wilder rides just put it on the floor and put a leg through the handle.

You can take them on the rides, but I did it once and once only. I hated having to take it off when I got on a ride and then put it back on again. I really didn't have to carry much, so I used a fanny pack instead. I let DH carry the backpack one of the days, and then we just decided to not carry one anymore.

I leave a little plastic pouch (like what you get for a Clinique bonus) in the stroller at all times with travel sizes of sunscreen, bandaids, etc. Should it get stolen, I've got more in the room. That way I'm carrying only the necessities and expensive items in the backpack and it goes with me at all times.

Yes, carrying a backpack on rides should be fine. Some (Dinosaur, Body Wars, Star Tours, etc) have pockets to hold your belongings, and usually the backpack will fit in those. On those that don't have a pocket (BTMRR, Space Mountain, RnRC, ToT), be sure to put one or both legs through the straps of the backpack. This is especially important on ToT because even though I had both legs through the straps, my backpack still floated 2 feet off the ground!!!!

This is exactly what I do too. Carrying a backpack also means I don't have to carry a purse or camera bag. For me it's actually alot easier on my neck and back muscles to carry a backpack rather than shoulder strap items.

Thanks everyone!

thats one less worry for me- i have a bad habit of waking up from a sound sleep and realizing something that may go wrong or have forgotten to do and the back pack thing was last nights "wake up worry"

lisa;)

I have a camera backpack. I carry it everywhere. I, too, have brought it on RnR and TOT. The ride I get the most nervous about it is Space Mountain. It is too large to be put UNDER the lap bar. I have to hold it on TOP of the lap bar. It never budges though.

I will say that the backpack I carry is pretty large and can be heavy. It isn't a problem if I want my camera equipment with me and it is good to carry all the extras that we may need in the parks.

I have seen people turned away from Mission: SPACE whose bags were too large to be stored in the "luggage compartments" in the capsules. If this turns out to be official policy, it may be worth considering visiting Epcot without a large backpack after August 15.

Hi I was the one w/ the stolen stroller and took my backpack on every ride..I always just kept it by my feet and if it was a wilder ride then i put my foot through the strap to keep it down on the floor.. Michelle

Definitely good to know wdwguide! Luckily, I won't need to bring along everything with me to the parks after August 15. I mean, I can always just pop back home if I forget something. :p
