Will I regret not taking the princess dresses?

I would bring the dress. I would not care if it never left the hotel. It is an insurance policy. My DD 5 may not want to wear the dress in the heat but if I don't bring it she will ask me to buy her one on day one of our 9 day trip. And by day 5, our BBB day I will give in. We have already told her she can bring her Dresses but we will not buy a new one @ WDW they are too expensive.

Last year at this time, I brought our dresses. They roll up easily and I stored them in the stroller. 30 minutes before our ressies, they changed into them. Then after the meal they changed out. They were very hot for those 2 hours they were in the dresses, but they were able to be princesses and enjoy the time, knowing they would cool off once we were back out in the sun.

We take them and wear them only for the meal and then change out. My daughter would be disapointed if she wasn't wearing one and I wouldn't give anything for my sweet pictures.

Many of the little girls are all dressed up. princess:

I would make plans to have her change into the dress then after dinner change back. I saw many moms do this with kiddos. The photos in their princess dress with the princesses will be memorable! :lovestruc

DD has worn her's through 2 DL trips and a trip to WDW - she loves them and has never complained about them being uncomfortable. I think it really depends on the child. If it were me I'd bring them just in case.

I would bring them for your crt meal. After the meal it can be taken off.

I have a question too. I have heard that you can have your dress shipped back to your room, not just items bought at the shops. Anyone know anything about this? I would love to send her cindy dress back to the room so we don't have to carry it around. It is one of the deluxe ones (on clearance for $7!) so it is rather bulky.

I say bring them !! When we went I packed each of my girls a dress of thier choice and my son packed his Narnia costume. Only my older daughter and son ended up wearing thier costume, my little one said it was too hot after 15minutes. I squished them into the siutcases then hung them as soon as I unpacked.

it will be hot. my girls didn't feel the need. most girls were not dressed...maybe one or two of the whole restaurant.

I just handwashed Kira's. Julia's is new, bought after Halloween and still in the package.

If they don't want to wear them, fine. But at least this way, they have the option.

My DD (4) thinks she is a princess :rolleyes1 , so yes, we definetly have to take at least 1 princess dress for every trip, but usually its more like 2-3 we take.

When we went the last 2 Septembers, she wore them for the meal and a couple hours after then asked to take them off. It was very hot, 95 degrees.

I would take them.

I decided not to bring my daughters dress for the reasons you stated. I figured she would not miss it. WRONG! We were walking to the castle for breakfast and she gave me that expectant look and asked " Mom, you DID bring my dress didn't you?" I felt terrible. She lived through the experience and it's too soon to tell if she is going to need therapy but now I just make room for the damn thing.

Yes, you will regret not taking them! When your girls see the other girls in theirs (and it will seem like every child under 7 is!), they will insist on their own and they are $65 at a minimum at WDW. We took dd's the first year and it was hot and she insisted on wearing it all day and never complained. You can pack a back-up outfit in your backpack in case they got hot (something small and lightweight like a sundress works well).

They're dry and packed. Thanks to all who convinced me to bring them.

If they don't get worn, it's OK. But as long as I have them, why not bring them???

I think you made a great call! I am planning to bring my girls dresses for our princess lunch in Norway. I am thinking we will probably change out of them afterwards.

Enjoy the Polynesian! We are staying there in October and can't wait!!
