I have always refused to add on the DP as I thought it was just too much food! DH has however requested the dining plan for this trip :scared1:

How much weight have you gained after 2 weeks on the DP??

My first time on DDP this coming August, so will let you know then

what dining plan are you on? the basic, deluxe or qsdp?
generally you can get away with not gaining as you are doing so much walking. :)

Last year we did it for 16 nights, obviously had no scales there to check but we don't believe we put any weight on. Meals were a lot more balanced than I would usually eat offsite, offsite I would eat fries with just about everything, on DDP very few fries.
After the 16 nights we did 7 night cruise, thats when the weight went on as we have 3, 4 or 5 courses, snacks, room service, midnight buffets and no/little excercise, at least at WDW its a lot of walking every day.

We had 3 weeks of DDP and I lost weight because of all the water I was drinking plus all the walking. We didn't eat junk really, only had burgers twice in the whole month and had the occasional ice cream.

Hoping for the same outcome this year too :thumbsup2

I didn't gain & I put weight on easily, but I usually loose weight without the DDP due to all the walking. Also, we don't make the best use of the plan & always have TS & CS leftover, but we do still feel we eat a lot more than at home..

Lost weight too. All the walking, coupled with the heat which causes you to fill up with water not food and also serves to curb the appetite. I eat a LOT of fruit and salad there because it is so refreshing.

You should be fine and you can always ask if they have a healthy option for dessert - most places will allow you to have fruit if they have it (TS) and for CS sometimes a yogurt, but usually no probs with an extra water.

As someone who has a desk job - all the walking round helped compensate for the food - so I was fine.

Hubby on the otherhand - whos does 13hr shifts on his feet all day as a chef -put on nearly a stone over our two week holiday!

(I hasten to add, however, hubby has lost all his weight and is an enviable 9st12 - gosh I wish I was!)

I think most people lose weight because of the amount of walking and fluid intake (water) as its always hot hot hot.

The food in Florida is good and very fresh, but I find we only ever eat twice a day on holiday. But at home I tend to munch all the time, especially in the winter - when chocolate becomes my best friend:cloud9:.

We were there on honeymoon after dieting for 2 years so I would guess I put on around 4 pounds or so.

We found the biggest downfall to be the overload of sweet stuff/deserts. I'm not really a pudding person and we did throw some away after taking them back to put in hotel fridge. We also seemed to get some extra deserts and things because of being on honeymoon.

One day we decided to stray from DP and order a room service breakfast as I was craving something savoury so I ordered sausages and french toast - which came dusted with icing sugar and cinnamon!

With or without the dining plan I always put on half a stone - but - as someone who diets most of the year - I refuse to limit myself when I'm away, so if you have slightly more restraint you will probably be OK!! I'm also a work-out addict at home, so the walking in the parks doesn't help me, as its less than I would usually do! So, depends on what youre used to . . .

In summary, elasticated waists are the way forward!!!!!!:rotfl2:

Thanks everyone! We are on the standard plan with a QS and TS. I usually eat very health hoever put on 7ib last trip :scared1: and that was without the DP!
