Will I miss the fireworks at CG?

I'm a little concerned after reading some posts-
I am eating at CG on August 31 at 9:10. We had the option of a 7:20 reservation, but the Res person said if we took the 9:10 we would see the fireworks. Other posts mentioned that the firworks will be over by 9:10...
Keep in mine that this is my first "Adult" WDW trip so maybe I am missing something in the details.
Any input?

I think the answer to your question lies in when they bring you upstairs to the restaurant.

The procedure is that you check in on the second floor of the Contemporary. When we checked in, we were asked to wait a few minutes (<5), and then we were shown to the elevator to CG. When we arrived upstairs, we were immediately seated at our table.

The problem with that ADR time is that if they don't take you upstairs until your table is ready, you may be in the second floor lobby during the fireworks. Unless someone in the restaurant says, "Gosh, Wishes is about to start and I bet there is someone downstairs waiting for this table. Let's get out of here so they can enjoy the show!"

Something about human nature tells me that's a bit unlikely.

We ate before Wishes, and were told that we would be allowed to return and watch the fireworks from the CG observation deck. We've seen Wishes many times, so we passed, but that may be an option if you take an earlier ADR.

It might not be an issue at all. The website says that there is no wishes scheduled for that night. I would imagine that there will be fireworks during the Princess and Pirate party though. It looks as if those fireworks may be at 10:00pm; if so then you should be fine at 9:10. If you find out that the fireworks are at 9:00 you should just check in about 8:45 and ask nicely to be allowed up to the observation deck if your table isn't ready yet

Where did you find info that there was no wishes that night? I've been looking all around (but obviously not in the right places!)

Click above on Theme Parks, then on Parades and Fireworks, then on the month you will be attending. Give a complete listing of a times.

Looks like we will just miss you! We are at CG on Sept 1!

Ahh yup, there it is! It looks like Illuminations is at 9:00 as well- can you see that from CG? It will be our last night so we are looking forward to having a nice, wonderful dinner to end the week!

I have been out on the observation decks a few times during the MK fireworks and do not recall seeing Illuminations, but it could have been a timing thing.

MK is directly in front of the observation deck, and EPCOT would be on the opposite side, so you may not be able to see past the Contemporary to see the show at EPCOT.

It is quite a view from the deck, and you can see just about anything else!
