Will I make it!?????

You are getting close to leave time so I'd suggest putting a "Narcoossee" search in via one of the reservation finder sites.
You'll actually have the opportunity to search a backup ADR as well on at least one of the sites.
Enjoy your children's birthday and your stay in general:).

There have been so many flight delays lately that personally I would not make a reservation for the night that you fly in. There is no way to know if your flight will be on time and if it is late and you miss the adr you will be charged a penalty. Why not make the nice adr for a night that you know you will definitely be there.

I also agree. You are not likely to make that ADR even with a private car. In the afternoons in August in FL you are almost 100% guaranteed a storm. They are usually short but can be mighty and cause many flight delays.

Also, traveling makes everyone tired. Your kids may be wiped out and or over excited. Going to a higher end restaurant, where the meal takes 2 hours, under those conditions may be disaster. Why not plan something fun and easy? Burgers or pizza out at the pool with an evening swim. Save the fancy dinner for a night that you have the time to get dressed up a little and soak it all in. In case you didn't know....when at WDW for a birthday, every day is your birthday.

I would cancel the ADR and rebook for later in the trip.

Meanwhile, I believe that you can order O'hana's as a room delivery when staying at the Poly. That, or a nice QS might work better for arrival day.

Have an awesome trip!!

Ok thanks everyone I cancelled it and we will probably just do Captain Cooks whenever we get in. I was able to make a 5:05 dinner at Narcoossee on our Epcot day that will probably be doable right????

:thumbsup2

Just leave Epcot with plenty of time to get there! DOn't forget that you will have to take 2 monorails (and wait for both).

All depends on what you have planned for that day. I would be leaving the park no later than 3pm. Gives you an hour travel time, then a half hour to freshen up at the resort and a little buffer time.

16 days away first trip for myself and our twins August Birthdays. This was my choice for a bday dinner.
Happy Birthday Twins! While Narcoossees is great, for a young child I thing they'd enjoy 1900 Park Fare or Ohanas much more, or Chef Mickey. If we book an ADR on our arrival day I leave at least 3.5 - 4 hrs after arrival.
Citricos is very nice, but again, I doubt children will enjoy it.

Thanks for the help! Narcoossees is for mammas bday dinner (a little late) ;) the twins get CRT on their actual birthday! I also was lucky to score a Ohana dinner too which my husband is really excited for! Would love to try 1900

Ohhhh!! That makes it all clear! Lol. Glad you were able to reschedule, but....IF you can make. It later, it's always fun to schedule Narcossee to the MK fireworks. Great viewing area and they pipe in the music. Makes it extra special.

I probably would not have booked a dinner on the first night if you are arriving later in the afternoon. We always take the first flight out, so we always do have a dinner ADR but only because we arrive at 9am. You might not get to the resort until 5:30-6pm - that is landing, getting off of the plane, not sure if you are getting your own luggage but I would if I were arriving at that time, then you don't know how crowded DME will be until you get there, then the 30-40 min drive from MCO to WDW.

Sounds good! We also really enjoy going to Trader Sam's at Poly (which might be a nice thing to do on arrival night now that you don't have an ADR to worry about). Children are allowed in before 8 pm and the special effects and antics in the lounge are really fun.

5:05 pm is definitely doable, but it depends on what your plans were for EP. If you were planning on going back to EP that night, I probably wouldn't do it (it's a lot of traveling). If you will be done with EP for the day around 3 pm, then, yes, it's doable.
