Will I like VWL?

I got back from a fantastic BCV stay not quite 2 weeks ago and decided I can't possibly wait for my October 2010 BLT trip. I need my WDW fix now! Well, trying to be semi-rational I decided May was a good midway point for a trip. Called MS hoping for BLT but, of course all studio catagories are booked. Thought about AKL (sv studios available and I love it) but this will be a solo trip and want to be closer to the action; MK, the MK bus stop to take you to any resort where you may have an ADR, and last, but not least, the monorail. Solo touring requires at least one loop of shopping/bar hopping.

So VWL was available. I am booked but waitlisted for BLT. This will be my first trip there. Loved AKL, BCV and HHI. Disliked SSR (sorry fans). Too spread out, not enough Disney. And the buses were horrible.

So will I like VWL, especially as a solo traveler?

VWL is quiet and relaxing. It is a quick boat ride to MK and the MK resorts. I think you will love it.

I think VWL is beautiful, and love it. I also think that you just may find yourself at BLT, there's time for the waitlist to work!!!

I think you will find it very peaceful and relaxing. I agree though with Bobbi, you have a good chance of your waitlist coming through.

YES!! WE LOVE VWL - just got back from our second trip there! I espicaly like it in the cooler months. BCV and VWL are my two faves! They are very diffrent buy you will LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

WLV/WL is one of my favorite resorts. I just wish they had 3 bedroom suites like OKW and AKV do...smjj

Personally I'd stick with VWL and forego the waitlist. VWL is amazing!

VWL is simple great. I am very critial. The rooms, theming. lobbies and nature (lake, trees, beach...) make is an unbelievable experience. It is a short boat ride to MK and Fort Wilderness. Has some of the best restaurants in WDW and the light water pagent.

I love that place and wish I owned there (we own at SSR, BWV, BCV and AKL)

Hey, if you haven't stayed there yet, you should try it. You already have reservations at BLT for October so you'll be able to check it out then. By staying at VWL first you can compare the two. Besides there is just something about the boat ride from WL to MK especially since you have a great view of BLT.

It's our favorite resort. It's just a quick ride to MK where you can transfer to any resort or park with easy.

Others have posted about the quick trip to the MK, but I will also add that the Bus Stop is just a short walk from the villas.

We just got back from a studio stay at VWL and loved the quiet there. There's a reason it's our home resort!

You will LOVE the VWL! We loved the boat ride to MK, sitting on the beach to watch the water pageant parade, the relaxed, quiet feel of the resort is so welcome after being in the crazy parks all day! I would cancel the waitlist too and just stay at VWL, you won't regret it!

I LOVE VWL and cannot wait 'till I can plan another trip there. It was designed by the same architect as AKL/AKV so if you like AKV you should be able to compare a few similarities. It is really a beautiful resort. And if you're a Hidden Mickey hunter there are TONS to be found!

You will love it!!! VWL is beautiful, relaxing. The resort is fairly compact and easy to get around. I love the boat ride to the magic kingdom. Enjoy your stay, you won't be disappointed!! We will be there over the 4th of July...can't wait to go back!!!!!

I'm not much of a WDW vet. We have only been five times, but of the five different resorts we have stayed at VWL is definitely our favorite.
