Will I be disappointed?

As a birthday surprise for my DH, I booked two extra days to our trip. I got us two nights at PBH in Univ/IOA. After that we have 6 nights at the WL at WDW.

My question is this - After staying at PBH will I be disappointed in WL? Believe me, I do understand that they are two very different themes.

I don't know anything about the PBH, but I just came back from the WL and it is a beautiful resort. I was not disappointed.

The resorts are so very, very different I don't think disappointment will be a factor. You may decide that you prefer one over the other for esthetic or practical reasons, but I don't think you'll necessarily experience disappointment.

Each resort has its very good points and each has a drawback or two. Go with the realization that the experiences will be a different between the resorts as will the experience between the WDW parks and US parks.

But first and foremost, have fun! :) :)

What will be disappointing is not having all day express access after you leave Universal. That perk is the BEST.

I don't know about comparing those two resorts, but I will tell you last November we were at the Hard Rock Hotel and IOA and I have to say it was the best resort we have ever stayed at. Absolutely beautiful.

I must admit I am looking forward to express entry for all of the rides! Too bad resort guests at WDW don't have a perk like that!

Of course, there are way too many of us who would use that perk!! It would be like getting in a regular line! Who knows? The regular line might even be faster. LOL!

Front of the line access is fantastic. When we went in November we didn't need to use it early in the day. You will fly through the park. The funny thing is, the first day when we were at IOA and they dropped the rope, we ran to Spiderman because we thought that was where everyone was going to go, but everyone headed for the Hulk and we were the first ones on Spiderman that day. Then went to the Hulk and rode two times in a row with no wait.

Can you do it the other way round? WL first, then PBH?
We stayed in PBH last year, and we really loved the resort and was spoilt by FOTL access. Also PBH rooms are much larger than WL's 340+ square feet. The boat to the US/IOA was very convenient and relaxing. If there is any one complain about WL, it's transportation. So you would have to get used to a smaller room, longer lines, and longer waits for transportation. However with all that said and done, PBH is a more adult oriented resort and I did sort of miss the Mouse when I was there.

Unfortunately DisneyAlly it has to be PBH then WL. PBH is not available at the end of our WL stay. We'll just have to go with the realization that these are two very different resorts with two very different themes and hope that we don't get too spoiled by FOL privileges at US/IOA. ;)

Ever since we walked into the WL out of curiosity last year, we were sure that was where our next big WDW trip would be. The grandeur of the lobby, the likeness to the great lodges out west (with which we fell in love on a trip to Yellowstone), the entire package appealed to us. So I'm convincing myself now that each resort will have its own high points.

I don't care as long as I'm on vacation! We're fortunate to be taking this trip and I know that, no matter what, we'll just be glad to be there!!

That's a great attitude! As long as you know what to expect then you won't be disappointed.

Have tons of fun on your trip!: bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

The year that the Wilderness Lodge opened, we left our Yacht Club room to move to a Jr. suite at Wilderness Lodge. I was very disappointed. I did not like the room size, the lack of drawer space in the Jr. Suite, the flourescent lighting, etc. If you are looking for something more in line with what you are leaving, I would consider one of the other deluxes, such as the Yacht or Beach Club, the Poly or GF.
