I'm debating booking the HI cruise and going without the kids since I won't take them out of school for 2 weeks. I will either go alone or maybe even treat a gf to go with me if she can swing leaving her Dh/parents to take care of her 3 kids. This would be my first trip away from my 3 kids since Dh died in Oct 2008. I'm just wondering if this is something I will need to book ASAP.

Its quite expensive for the gazillion days at sea and its during school for most. Its exactly during schoolbreak for my kids but pricing too high.

I think people will book but not as fast as everything else just because it is a long expensive cruise. remember, disney pricing is always lower the longer out you book. So if you think you are going to go, I would book it.

I agree that the extreme amount of sea days will detract from its popularity. We were hoping to go, but there just isn't enough to do on the ship for toddlers on 9 sea days!

Well I emailed my TA to book the HI sailing as well as a June 2012 Alaska sailing. Since the kids would not be going on the HI cruise, the sea days do not bother me. I love being out on the water and it makes me feel closer to Dh since he also loved being on and in the water. This would be a huge step for me, going somewhere by myself and focusing on nothing but relaxation!! I like this itinerary because I would feel comfortable getting off at any of the HI ports on my own. I would not get off in Ensenada though. Of course I have to ask my IL's if they would watch the kids but I am sure they will say yes.

i hope your trip works out! enjoy the time!!!

i also live in So. CA and was very interested in this cruise... I saw the itinerary but no prices yet either... and is it only happening in April? 2012? I'd hoping for a winter/summer version in 2013!

I'd do it in a heartbeat--but it conflicts with our Fantasy cruise....and with DD's school!

Where did you find the prices? I couldn't figure it out on the DCL webiste :confused3
Thanks!

One thing I've found in life is that if you want something, and it's available, grab it immediately. DO NOT HESITATE.

We did a round trip Hawaii on RCI it had 1 over night and 1 extra long time in Oahu. I had really wanted to do Hawaii with Disney but May is too early for us. Plus I can do a way better cruise on the Carnival Spririt from Van with a balcony and the rates start for balcony at $1299 plus it has 2 over nights. I am booking the Spirit tomorow!

In regards to hawaii going fast: i have a dummy date booked with dreams unlimited so does that mean i have to wait for thier quote and they move the sailing for me? I cant' call disney and have them do it since i have a ta correct???? just making sure...thanks!

Would have done HI in a NY minute, but I can't take dd out of school for 2 weeks:headache::headache::mad:.

I could take ds as he would be on summer break, but I don't think dh would buy into that idea and dd would be so so so jealous of her brother. She really wants to go to HI.

I don't want to do NCL; thinking we may do Abercrombie & Kent Australia in 2012 and add a few days in HI and Fiji on the way back:cool1::cool1:. Need to really save for that one lol!!

yes! You are right........" life is not about waiting for the storm to pass .........................it's about learning to dance in the rain ".

As Hawaii cruise itineraries go, I'd prefer either a repo cruise between Hawaii and Vancouver, or a one-week roundtrip from Honolulu on NCL - in spite of the ship. Nine sea days on DCL are about 4 too many for me. I have an RCI Hawaii repo cruise booked for April 2012, but I will probably move it to something else.

Yes - only your travel agent can move the dummy booking for you.
