Will he fit?

My soon to be DH and I will be going to US/IOA for part of our honeymoon. He's a big guy, 6'2", size 52 jacket, 300 lbs. I'm worried there might be things at the parks he won't be able to do and will get frustrated because of it. We went to Six Flags Great Adventure once and he couldn't ride the Superman ride because his shoulders are very broad and he has a long torso. Needless to say this put a damper on the good times and we left.

Can anyone think of anything he might not be able to do at US/IOA, aside from the Harry Potter ride (I know that might be an issue)? Forewarned is forearmed, you know? Thanks!

The coasters at both parks have modified seating near the attraction entrance. Make sure he tries to fit in the test seats before heading into the queue. Modified seating is available on Hulk & Dragon Challenge (rows 3 & 6) and the back row on Revenge of the Mummy. I believe there are modified seats on the Rockit as well but I'm not sure which row.

Hey Metro!!! Great info, thank you so much!

Thanks for info as my DH is on the bigger side too :) For Hulk & Dragon, do both rides offer modified seating in both rows 3 & 6? And can you confirm if there is a modified test seat available for ALL of these rides so he'll know if he fits (including Forbidden Journey)?

OP -- congrats on your upcoming wedding! Have a great time of your honeymoon!!

There is no modified seating on FJ. However, if you don't fit on the outside test seats, you may still fit on the ride, so still go through the castle and give it a try.

Having been formerly of that size I can pretty assure you that he won't fit on either coaster in IOA. And from what I read about FJ that's most likely a no-go as well. But try the test seats outside the rides anyway. A lot of it depends on where one's body weight is distributed. But be prepared.

On the other hand he should fit into The Mummy coaster. I had no problems with that one.

My dh is 6'2" and around 285 lbs. He's in a 44 pants. He couldn't even get one click on the FJ test seats outside the ride. He was fine in any seat on the Mummy (sat in front row today).

We'll try the test seats anyway for the IOA coasters. He'd really like to ride Hulk since he's such a Marvel fan. Do we request the modified seats or does the CM at boarding just direct him there?

(Also, he's working to lose some more weight before the wedding so hopefully he'll just have the height and shoulder width problems to deal with.)
