Will Greta Van Susteren ever develop any semblance of journalistic ability?

I understand she was a highly respected trial attorney, and I don't doubt her legal knowledge one bit. She was also great as an "analyst". But the woman's been hosting news shows for years now and she has yet to improve in any way on her dreadful journalistic ability. Monotone teleprompter reading, constantly mispronouncing words, not pausing in between sentences and often times just mumbling through them carelessly, very little ability to "give and take" with a guest. She could have a guest, say Shephard Smith for example, who brings up a profoundly interesting point about the Middle East, one that just BEGS for further questioning by the host, but what does Greta respond with? "Thanks Shep"

This woman would be the perfect legal analyst, but she makes a terrible host.

I couldn't agree with you more. I heard she had plastic surgery, but she looks so stiff to me when she's talking. :confused3

I love Greta. She is my favorite newswoman.
I notice she often dodges the meatier political stuff, leaving the political debates to Hannity & O'Reilly and focusing on softer stuff like court cases and missing persons.
On the Record is my favorite show on Fox.

She probably avoids politics due to the fact that she is Fox News' resident Democrat and Scientologist. She would probably be fired if she expressed her own views. :rotfl:

:confused3

I just figured she couldn't move her mouth anymore from the plastic surgery.

She had plastic surgery and looks like that? Was it cosmetic surgery, or was she injured?

I like her, but her voice bothers me, and the way she talks out the side of her mouth bothers me. Plus, the stories she usually covers get old, it's usually the same stuff every day. How many times does she need to cover Natalie Holloway, when there is nothing new? Boring! That said, she seems very intelligent and nice. It seems like a lot of those Fox people have gotten so rude, and I like that she is usualy respectful of her guests.

Didn't you know it's Scientology who made her who she is today?! Sorry -- I've been reading the "Where Is Suri" link too long and found out she's a Scientologist!

This sounds incredibly shallow...

At age 8 or 10, my brother took one look at the TV when she was on something and said, "I think she's the ugliest person on TV." From that point forward, we teased him that it was his girlfriend. Even after her huge amounts of plastic surgery, he still says that about her.

I told you it was shallow.... :confused3

*Oops... this is another before!

I agree too...her surgery was around her eyes to make them look more open for lack of a better description, remember she barely had any eyelids visible before the surgery. Saw her interviewed about it after the surgery with before and after pics.
