Will FW help you set up a tent?

LOL! I know this is a crazy question, but I am camping this fall at FW and usually bring my little 2 person tent which I can set up alone. My husband wondered why I don't bring the large 3 room cabin tent so I would have extra room. Well, it's because I cannot set it up by myself. I am the only camping nut in my family so I usually get to camp solo before the rest of the family arrives and we move to a Disney resort.

So what do you think? Is it possible?

While I don't know if FW staff would be willing to help, I DO know that campers are a friendly bunch and you are likely to find someone around willing to lend a hand.

1) Whenever I work the The Fort, we are told not to help guests erect their own tent.
2) We can help people backing into a campsite, but that's about it.
3) Too much liability.
. . . tent could collapse if not properly staked
. . . or, after we leave, the cmaper could remove a stake or do something else
. . . people can claim a personal injury
. . . WDW either pays to defend lawsuit or pays out a "nuisance award"

That's sad, but understandable.

I'll echo the comments above. Nearly any other camper will typically jump in if asked. Many, even if they just see you look like you may need help.

There are a few of us that pull up a chair to watch the show for a while before we get up to help, but we're like that.

• Take your small tent
• Take your large tent and hope for help
• Get a new husband

We've camped at Ft Wilderness about once a year for the past 15 years. I've always asked Disney to send someone over to put up our (large) tent, and they always do. Just ask nicely; they'll help you.

Half our crew got a room so I personally won't be available.

We have set it up before and it is definitely a 2 person job. I could get it unrolled and staked, but would need help lifting... but you never know, it could happen. My husband says I should bake a basket of cookies for my "helpers"!

Thanks everyone ! After reading this thread my mind flashed to that scene in the movie RV where they were attempting to use the dump station and in the near distance you see a crowd of about 20 people in camp chairs having snacks, drinks, and then applauding the final "messy" result.
