Will FOP ever increase capacity?

Since it's obvious that waits for FOP are abysmal and will be for years, do you think/hope that Disney will build an additional theater for FOP anytime soon? I know it took them years to add a new theater/track for both Soarin' and TSMM. It's really made a difference on waiting times for those two attractions.

I'm hoping for sooner than later in the case of FOP.

Not without adding another screen. As others have said, there are too many other big projects already in the works.

I could see it way down the line, like they did with Soarin', but I don't think it will happen any time soon. In fact, I wouldn't expect to see it for at least a decade or so. Once SWGE opens, I am sure Pandora will feel like old news to a lot of people and although it will be popular, it won't be POPULAR like it is now. It's kind of like how you couldn't get a 7DMT or FEA FP on 60 days for the longest time, and then Pandora opened and 7DMT and FEA were easier to get.

With all the hotels they keep building, they will eventually have to look at park capacity, whether that's an entirely new gate or major expansions of the existing parks. People aren't going to be content to just come and stay at their hotel looking out the window at a theme park. But they have enough on their plate right now, and then the big anniversary to get through in 2021. After all that is finished, maybe they will announce something on the timeline.

Even if they increased capacity tomorrow, the waits would still be crazy because it's one of the newest things that a lot of people haven't done yet. As others have said, when the Star Wars land opens people will start to shift other there and Pandora won't be quite as bad. And while I don't know the mechanics for the ride, I feel like it would be harder to add more capacity to FoP when compared to Soarin or Toy Story.

When Space Mountain first opened, it had waits of 2-2 1/2 hours. The queue extended to the right of the entrance between it and the Skyway loading platform. They didn't build another Space Mountain, the crowds subsided as other rides came on line.

With Star Wars opening in Disney Hollywood Studios, at the best this will be a wait and see.

I remember that! The Big Red machine and Jaws were dominating the summer. TV only had 5 channels, and one was PBS! We waited in that unbearable summer heat and we loved it! We looked at our watch and said “only an hour left and we can ride”. In those days you didn’t have fancy cell phones. While you waited in line you had to talk to your family. And we loved it! Last time we were in a long line (At RnR), we played that Disney game on my daughtersd iPhone with a whole bunch of HS students from Miami. We had a blast!!!

We went to Disneyland about 6 months after Indiana Jones opened. There was a 4 hour line that stretched from Indy in adventure land all the way across the park to Small World near the back of the park. Once you got to the ride entrance it was still over an hour of weaving inside. As far as I know they've never expanded ride capacity. Still long lines of an hour or more on a busy day all these years later.
