Will DVC Ban Smoking?

It's pretty much a given that this will happen eventually, based on the direction local and state governments have been heading over the last 10 years. Non-smokers hope it will be sooner and smokers hope it's later, but it will happen at some point.

By the way, I don't think DVC will decide on their own to ban smoking in the rooms, more that they will be forced to by Florida laws at some point.

I hope not. Hardly have any rights as it is, would be nice to be able to smoke IN A SMOKING ROOM, OR IN A DESIGNATED AREA IN THE PARKS.
I am considerate and do not smoke where I'm not supposed to.

I believe if this is the direction DVc wanted to go, SSR would have been made NS. It was the perfect opportunity. Clean slate, fresh 50 years.

I think jarestel's correct. Disney/DVC will eventually let Florida be the bad guy. Heck, DVC won't even enforce the rules they have on the books for fear of looking like the bad guy.

They will but not yet as too many addicted users still exist, aking the subject both taboo and tricky to implement.

I would like to see it but I doubt they will so I voted no. You have the issue of members complaining that they were not told it was all non-smoking when they bought. Vistana, a timeshare near WDW, does not even have designated non-smoking rooms. DVC has cutback on the number of smoking rooms.

I do not believe they'd be foolish enough to try it of their own accord.

I put yes, but I don't think its going to happen anytime in the near future. But since there was not time specification, my simple answer is yes.

I agree with DVCconvert, however, that it probably wouldn't be very smart to do right now.
