Will DL's 75th anniversary in 5 years.....

be as big as the 50th was? I wonder. I remember they closed DL for a day except to guests of the resort hotels. How I would have loved going that day. I didn't go until later that summer,but I remember the initial celebration was huge.

I'm expecting very big things for the 75th. In fact, I thought that the DL execs wouldn't do much for the 70th because they would be holding all the good stuff for the 75th. I was obviously wrong about that. Given what they're doing this year, the 75th should be amazing!

I was there for the 50th & it was my oldest son's 1st time and and it just happens to be. The 70th will be our daughter 7 yr old 1st trip(yes, very big age difference LOL) and 16 yr old son. For the 75th I imagine they will go all out and I would love to be able to bring the whole family which will be at that time 4 adult children & 1 tween.... probably a good chance there will be a 1 or 2 spouses by that time to add to it also. But the ultimate dream is the 100th anniversary and being able to bring all the kids and hopefully a few grandkids I will be around 73 for that one!

Just curious. How come 75 vs 70?

Because 25-year increments are traditionally bigger deals than 10-year increments--for people as well as theme parks.

I would think so. That is when my next trip is planned, so I am hoping for all new parades, fireworks, etc.

I'm a pre-diabetic and I think if I'm able to prevent getting diabetes, then yes I'll make it. My last doctor appointment my A1c was 6.2, only 3 away from a diabetes diagnosis. That scared the crap out of me. Now I'm the lightest I've been in a long time. I should be good if I keep losing weight.....I didn't mean to go so off topic,lol.
