Will Disney World ticket prices increase at beginning of August?

Normally Ticket Price increases always go into effect on a Sunday. The earliest Disney will usually announce the increases is late on a Friday afternoon.

The only people who know in advance are some managers and high level people, the programmers for the ticketing computers, and the people who make signs and printed materials.

Often many of us who sell tickets find out when we come in and find that the prices on our terminals are changed, and the sheets we have in the booths to show Guests their choices are new.

Guests have been coming into our TDS in NJ saying that ticket prices are going up in August. They say they read it on the internet. Some are buying passes.

We just say we have no idea, because we don't......

We are going to Disney World in October. We bought our tickets this month because I noticed they seem to go up in August and I didn't want to have to pay more if we waited.

I've always been of the belief that you buy the tickets as soon as you have the money available. We all know that the price will never go down, just up without any notice. Between undercover tourist and the other sites, there are always very good discounts out there so you don't have to worry about timing it right to get the best deal...They seem to always be at least in the same neighborhood as to what the best price is.

If you are going in the next year just buy them NOW.

Unless you're going soon, I don't see the purpose of locking away hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in tickets. Ticket prices don't jump all that much, and you lose the value of time with money by buying now.

Do you think the Premier Passes will go up too if the other passes go up? They are a relatively new pass but I've seen Disney do odd things before.

Ticket prices almost certainly going up on Sunday, August 1. Good thing I will be renewing my AP the day before.

Disney will continue to raise prices on a regular basis, and we will all, like good lemmings, follow the rest of the suckers {myself included} over the cliff, into the precipice, and to Disneys front gates. So shall it always be. :confused3

I spent $25 for my daughter to go on six low-level rides when a traveling carnival stopped recently. I'm simply not that outraged at Disney's admission fees, truth be told. It's expensive, sure, but dollar for dollar I think it's a pretty good deal -- and my opinion on that won't change if it goes up a few bucks.

That's up to you.

Some people would rather buy it now to save them some money.

But if your vacation is over a few months away, you probably could leave your funds in whatever investment account you choose and offset the increase (and possibly then some).

You are assuming people have the funds in an investment account (indeed, you are assuming people have an investment account in the first place...) which they will be using to pay for the vacation. Future WDW visitors are probably in a thousand different financial situations. If you are effectively paying cash for the tickets, then you save something buying prior to any increase. Similarly, if you are putting them on your 27.9% credit card anyway, and carrying that balance, there seems little point to waiting for the price to go up
