I was able to get CCV studio for our days and wanted to add a day. I made a one night reservation for CCV studio at the beginning of our studio already booked.
Has anyone had any luck having them merge something like this into one reservation?
I checked to see if there was availability for all the days we wanted and there was not. It only had one day at the beginning that was available.

I would call and ask if guest services can get all of your dates in a single reservation. I was having this same issue when I wanted to shift June dates with our BC reservation. I did not see the availability online, but I called the the CM could see it on her end and was able to shift dates for us. They may not be able to do it, but it's worth asking.

It doesn’t hurt to ask, but don’t be disappointed if the answer is no, they can’t be merged into a single reservation. However, they can probably be linked as “continuing reservations” - they’ll still have separate confirmation numbers and count as a split stay, but you can probably stay in the same room. Sometimes you have to go down and check out from one reservation and into the next, but you don’t have to pack up and leave the room. (I’m assuming they’re both the same category of CCV studio - either the Studio with Walk-In Shower or the Studio with tub/shower.)

There is never a guarantee and I imagine availability plays a role, but three times over the last year we've been merged into the same room at two different resorts (CSR and Pop).

What I've done is stop by the front desk and ask if we'll need to plan to change rooms. Each time, they've already known. we would be in the same room. I think with COVID they've been trying to actively do this to lower rooms needing cleaning between guests.

I have a habit of changing plans long after we make them LOL

Edited for clarify :)

CSR did tell me to do this once when I asked the night before. So I did in the morning, and the morning CM looked confused. All was good though!

Is it a DVC reservation? Made with the same membership? In the same room category? Members services can certainly combine the reservations if your answered yes to all those questions. Also, you might be able to "modify" your reservation in the future when you want to add a night. The modify function should recognize the days you already have booked as "available."

Assuming the studio is of the same category (walk in shower or tub), yes this can be done. If you reserved direct through Disney, just call the reservation line tell them what you want to do and give them both reservation numbers. They will combine the two into one. I just did this a couple weeks ago for CCV myself. No problems at at all.

Yes same category.

No it’s not DVC.

Oh good!

Might also depend on it they are both in the same price category. If one part of the reservation is at a different rate, it might impact their ability to merge them. Best to call and ask.

I did this the other day for the YC portion of my split stay. I have a Water View room at the AP rate but there was no availability in that category for my last night so I had to pay rack. I called and the CM asked me for both reservation numbers, she made a note that they were continuing reservations. It was quick and painless. I plan to go to the desk when I check in just to confirm I can stay in the same room.
