Wanting to go back to the world next year in November or December. We do not do MVMCP at all. But I was wondering will Disney let me make a reservation at the Crystal Palace for dinner around 6 30 or 6 45 even though we will not have tickets to the party? I know it will take us at least an hour in the Crystal Palace. So should I make other plans or not?

You can still eat, but they will make you leave when you are done. Enjoy!

As long as you are in magic kingdom for the day you should be fine. I know that after you finish eating they will not let you ride any rides or see any characters unless you have the wristbands.

Personally with all the great places to eat at WDW I see this as trying to get into the party for free.

Maybe your not but than why that place, that night, at that time. You said you are over a year out from your trip. Why not plan so you don't look like a party crasher.

I disagree. I don't think it looks like she's trying to get into the party for free. If she's planning that day for her MK day and wants to eat at Crystal Palace for dinner, why shouldn't she be able to? After dinner, she's not gonna be kicked out of the park, she just won't be able to go on any of the rides or do any character greets. So if anything, she gets to walk around, see a parade and some fireworks, which are going to be the same ones they show after the party dates anyway.

WOW!!!!!

That was not nice. Quite frankly, would you like it if those of us that have PH or 1-day tickets complained about Disney letting you in at 4PM, even though it starts at 7? I don't think it is fair that you get to get in the park and ride the rides and have dinner if you are only there for the party. You take up my place in line when you get there early, so there...

I prefer to eat either early on, like 3 or 4, and snack or I like to eat super late, like 8 or 9. What's it to you what my dining habits are?

Shoe is on the other foot. Your rebuttal please.

Since guests without tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party are supposed to be out of the Magic Kingdom at 7:00 PM then there is nothing wrong with what the OP wants to do, because under the current rules they are allowed to make an ADR before 7:00 PM.

I agree.....you can eat dinner in the park, but you will have to leave when you're done if you don't have a party ticket.

I agree that she can eat dinner at CP, but I disagree that she will be able to walk around the park and enjoy the parade and fireworks when she's done. Those parties are hard ticket events and people pay alot of money to attend. The parade and fireworks are special for the parties and although they are shown after the last party where anyone can see them, that is one of the perks of going to the party prior to that time. The parties are not all about going on rides and character meet and greets, but rather those things along with special parades, fireworks, etc. I have read reports that a CM will escort you out of the park after a meal if you do not have a party ticket. I have never experienced this personally as we've always bought tickets to the parties, but it does make sense as people pay extra money (on top of regular park admission) to attend and experience the little extras.

If the time slot is available when the booking window opens, make the reservation and enjoy. If they want all non participating guests for MVMCP out of the park at a certain time then certain time slots for dinner shouldn't be made available.

Considering that MVMCP doesn't start until 7:00 PM how would the Cast Members on the phone or the WDW website know if the OP had or doesn't have tickets to the event when making the ADR? At 6:30 PM or 6:45 PM the Magic Kingdom is still open and in my opinion not having a ticket for the party that night shouldn't be a factor in getting the ADR at those times.

I was at LTT during the MVMCP last year and people seated near us did not have party tickets. They were certainly allowed to eat there but someone from Disney was there when they were done to walk them out of the park.

I'm going to give this a WOW also!

If I were in the op's shoes I would do the exact same thing. Maximize park/ride time and eat as late as possible to closing of the park to non-party goers. Perfect plan to me!

Actually her family will be escorted from the parks. They are very strict at checking for wristbands during the Christmas Parties. We were checked mulitple times last year, and saw them escort more than one family from the park who didn't have wristbands.

People pay lots of money to enjoy the party and all that goes with it. There won't let them stay after their ADR if they didn't pay for the party.

This is not true. A hard ticket party is not like EEMH where you get to stay in the parks. Her party will be escorted out of the park, the CMs make sure there is no "lingering". The CMs are out in force checking wristbands at the hard ticketed parties. It doesn't matter if the fireworks are going to be the same a week or a day later. That day, they are part of the entertainment, and therefore the cost, of an extra ticket.

1. If you are not called for your seating before 7:00 you may not be seated.

2. If you are seated before 7:00 you may enjoy your dinner but as you do not have wristbands more than likely there will be someone to escort you at least to Main Street, and possibly all the way to the gate.

It was November 2010, and we made an ADR at CRT for 6:45 on a party night. I was afraid we'd be pushed out of the park, so I hurried my family down main street after dinner, but the cms didn't rush us at all!

Btw, since the parade happens so many nights before Christmas, and at the time our kids were 2, 4 and 6, ( bedtime is about 8, and we have no desire to stay out later than that) it's totally reasonable to take advantage of whatever time you have in the mk!

I didn't know that if you were not seated before the party time, Disney could refuse to seat you.Would they then have to pay the no-show fee?:confused3

OOOhhhh good question. Boy would that light me up if they tried to do that.

Harsh.

Scheduling a dinner at 6:45 when the party starts at 7 is not party crashing. Disney is very efficient at herding non-party folks out at 7 p.m.

Starting your dinner at 6:45 and then exiting the park is in no way infringing on anyone else's party ticket.

You can't crash the party when the have CMs escorting you from the restaurant to the exit once your dinner is over. A friend of mine at at CRT during MVMCP last year and they were promptly escorted to the exit, in a very strict form. She said it was almost comical, but respects it. The same would happen for OP.
