I don't know if this has been discussed or not, but here goes anyway. It seems like Disney are collecting a lot of market research data recently (surveys, emails, 'what did you have for breakfast this morning' questions when you phone to price a resort room). I have seen it mentioned that they are not acting any differently than grocery stores who offer loyalty cards (they're collecting data on you too). The difference is the grocery are at least rewarding you for their nosiness with discounts and special offers.
Now, I'm not talking about the Disney Visa, I'm talking about a programme like the Hhonors or the SPG one? If it works for hotels like Sheraton, and for airlines, then surely it would work for Disney too? Would you be more likely to stay onsite, eat onsite, purchase collectibles and souvenirs onsite if you had a loyalty card? Does anyone think this will ever become a reality?
Just a thought
