Will Diana DeGarmo be the next Belle for BATB?

Hey guys, I heard it was rumored that Diana could be playing the next Belle on broadway's "Beauty and the Beast." Have you guys heard any of these rumors?

Also, don't forget that Saturday is "Request "Emotional" on Radio Disney Day," on which we will be requesting the song a lot of times in order to get her higher on the top 30 countdown.

Finally, I've been trying to access disboards all day Aw well...today is "Request 'Emotional' on RD Day," so I hope you all have been requesting on there. We don't need someone one from american idol tainting the Disney name. No offense to anyone who likes her. I've never heard her song and I believe she was one of the worst on American Idol last season and last season was pretty bad. So, again, we don't need an American Idol finalist tainting the Disney name on Broadway as one of it's most beloved characters. I would much rather have Avril play Belle than Diana and I HATE Avril

Allright, if that's true, then why is Disney pursuing her with such interest? Also, Christy Carlson Romano got really bad reviews when she played Belle, and she is Disney. So with all due respect, I don't think Diana could do any worse then Christy. And btw, you might want to check out Diana's cd since you haven't heard her since AI

WOW~! This is a GREAT post for me....I played a chorus role in BATB with Christy ....She was HORROBLE!!! And she swears and smokes ..not good disney.....Now I know Diana becuase i take voice from her voice teacher..While with my voice teacher he calls Di and mentions BATB audition dates etc.......I think it is a 75% she will be belle....

I hate when this happens... with any person that is already famous... it annoys me that they're already famous, but they get hired to play a part, even though there is a regular, not-famous person that could play it better.(not that the famous person plays the part bad(but sometimes they are very bad), just not as good as the not famous one could play the part.)

That's just my view... I have a lot of very very talented friends trying to make it on Broadway - and I've been studying dance, singing, and acting since I was little and I hope to perform in the future - then I read stuff like this, and I think "I'm not famous- do I even have a chance to make it?"

note: I did not mean that Diana would make a bad Belle.. I'm just saying - hold some open auditions and you may find someone just as talented or more talented that could play the role.

Well.............Unless u call holding a cig and breathing out smoke not smoking then yes she is a smoker.......I hated her...she always glared at me during the fountain scene in Belle
