Will DCL refund my fuel charge fee?

In May we booked a DCL 3 night cruise(for February 09) using our DVC points and paid cash for our two kids. Now with the kids cruising for free, I called MS to inquire about a refund or even upgrade since we paid about $600 for our children. MS said that since we used points for the cruise, the offer does not apply. O.K., that makes sense.

Then my DH was thinking about the fuel charge we paid. Since that has been dropped for all cruises, can we possibly get a refund on that? I called MS but since we are here on the west coast, I called too late and missed them. Has anyone inquired into this or has had this experience?

I called and asked the same question and was told that if the price per barrel is under $70 during the quarter you are cruising, they will refund the Fuel Surcharge in the form of an onboard credit. They will do this if you booked with cash or on points. I double checked and asked again and had it confirmed.

I believe it is $8 per night per person (for the first two passengers) and I can't remember how much it was for the remaining passengers.
