Will DAS Advance Selections have to be made for the park you have a pass for even with an AP or Hopper?

And what would happen if I had a park reservation for HS, and picked my rides/times for late afternoon. And then a week before, decided I’d rather go to Epcot first then hop over. What happens to those return times, do you think?

I'd think they'd get dropped since you changed your reservation? They have wording out there that the extra DAS are limited, etc. I'm thinking these special ones are a perk that they won't want to make too easy to manipulate.

I would assume those Advanced Planning rides would remain available to you to use in the late afternoon. If you don't use them, you would forfeit them. That's just my assumption, though, not based on anything that has been stated.

I wouldn’t count on changing since they are made when registering for DAS and I’m not sure there will be any mechanism for changing outside of that process. One of the reasons for DAS Advance Selections also apparently is to try to spread out some of the DAS users.

The WDW website DAS information does say
« If a selection is available, the Guest will be given a one-hour time period during the day of the visit to redeem the selection. Selections are valid for use only on the date and during the one-hour time period chosen and cannot be transferred. »

That sounds to me like « use it or lose it »

It doesn’t sound like the OP wants to change the choices, just use them in their second park (after hopping).

Example:
Passes are for Muppets at 5pm.

OP goes to Epcot in the morning and plans to hop over the DHS in the afternoon to use the Muppets pass at 5pm.

The question is - would the passes be canceled when the system sees her enter Epcot?

Hopefully we can get some clarification on that once people start doing the pre-registration video chat. I know a couple of people tried Tuesday but got disconnected late evening.

And 2 people reported in the other thread...

Your Advanced Selections must be in the park in which you have a park reservation. I don't know what might happen if you changed your park reservation, if you'd lose them or not. Hopefully someone will get clarification on that today. Both selections will be within the same 1-hour period and you have a 1-hour window in which to ride or it will be lost; you can choose 10am, 12noon or 5pm.

The report in the other thread said that both COULD be in the same 1-hour period not that they WILL be in the same 1-hour period.

Ok, thanks. I misunderstood that.

I might have been the one who misunderstood.

I explained my issues. She thanked me and said she was able to set up the pass and would I like to make my 2 advanced reservations. We went through each day. The times seemed to be set around 10, 12, 5 but you could pick two for the same hour. She did say that you must go within an hour for these. I asked if I ended up not using them, will it be a problem and she said no.

The advanced times needed to be in the park I had a reservation at and I could choose 2 the same hour or different times for the day. I did ask what if I park hop or don't use one and they said that these are just to help enhance your day so if I choose to park hop before one or all, I just lose them.

That makes sense.

We originally had a park reservation for Epcot and when we made our DAS advanced selection we could only get Soarin and Test Track at 7 and 7:30pm. After looking at our plans we thought we would like to visit Magic Kingdom in the morning and hop to Epcot for our 2:20 Biergarten reservation and spend the evening at Epcot. I contacted DAD reservations and asked and they told me if I changed the park reservation that the DAS would remain because only they can cancel it. I was nervous but cancelled out Epcot park reservation and booked Magic Kingdom and our DAS selections at Epcot are still there.

When I made our selections yesterday I could only pick them for the parks I had reservations for (even though I really wanted to pick rides for EPCOT the one day we will hop there).

we had to select ours for the park we had reservations for (Epcot) but after I booked the DAS times I was able to cancel our Epcot park reservation and change it to MK and the DAS times didn’t change.

Other people have reported they were told it would disappear and theirs did disappear when they changed their park reservation.
This might be a change, or it may just have been pixie dust that you got.

That could be. The CM told me that I could switch it because only they can cancel them. Mine are still there as of today. I will report back when we go on Monday if we are able to use them.

Are there any recent experiences with this or updates from anyone that’s tried it. I want to make our advanced selections for Hollywood, but start in Epcot in the morning. Will they allow this? Should I change my park tickets to Hollywood, get the advanced selections, and then change the tickets back to Epcot? I’m afraid I’ll lose the selections. Reading the comments it seems like it worked for some, but not others…. So any recent experiences would be helpful. Thanks!
