Will COP Be open for Oct trip?

I thought this attraction was closed permanently - and it's one of our very favorites! It was in Birnbaums 2008 Guides and the Disney Website states it's open 'seasonally'. Is seasonally in Oct do you think??

All I can tell you is that it was open in September when we were there.

No, it's not closed permanently. And it's not open seasonally. It's open year-round, so you'll be able to see it in October.

I know I've seen it the last few years in Sept, Oct, Dec, Jan, and May.

Look closely though--it may APPEAR closed because most likely there will be no line outside. It's a "walk right on by" attraction for a majority of WDW visitors.
And that's a shame.

Oh trust me - it was definitely closed in 04 - we walked right up to it, but the doors were roped off. We'll hit this for sure in Oct, it is one of our top 5 (Buzz, Peter Pan, Space Mtn, and PhilHarMagic are most likely 1-4)

We've been the past three years in October, and it's always been open. It's one of our favorites!

It was open last year in Dec. and hopefully it will be again this year. COP is DDs favorite ride, she rode it 3 times in a row last year. We finally had to tell her it was time to move on, I guess she'll want to do it again.

It has never been closed once when we were there, and we have been all times of year except dead of summer. But we did get stuck on it once and had to watch the Fourth of July scene three times. Then my DH WISHED it had been closed!

Just so everyone is on the same page:

Carousel of Progress went into seasonal operation shortly after 9/11, due to the resulting drop in tourism. It went back into year-round operation in 2005 and has been open daily since (except during the occasional maintenance work and ride breakdowns). Disney's web site still lists it as seasonal, but it also lists Epcot's Future World as only being open until 7pm, so you can't believe everything you read there.
