Will code still apply if ressie is changed?

I have an ap rate for an upcoming trip but due to a family obligation I have to lessen the days we will be staying. :sad1: Will that have an affect on the rate I am receiving? Should I leave ressie the same and change it when I get there? Has anyone ever done this before?
