We are going in September on a MAW trip. There will be 18 of us going and we will all be wearing matching "Nicky's Wish Trip" tee shirts. Does anyone know if the characters will sign shirts? I think it would be cute to carry a couple of Sharpies and have them sign the backs of our shirts. :confused3

I believe the official policy is they will not sign clothing you are wearing. If you want to have special tee shirts signed you have to carry them with you and hand them to the characters to sign. It would help to have some sort of board to support the shirt for signing.

The characters won't sign anything whle you are wearing it...but will if you have them in your hand, maybe with a book underneath so that they have something hard to write on.

Getting shirts signed sounds like a great idea...just plan on wearing something else that day!

It is my understanding that they will not sign anything on a person's body. You might want to bring a extra shirt to have the characters sign as that might be acceptable.

i have had them sign shirts,, not while wearing,, doll bodies and hats....

Darn, I kind of figured that, but wanted to check just in case. Thanks guys! pirate:

Someone else posted that they took some pillow cases to have the characters sign. They took a box of different colored Sharpies, and got an embroidery hoop which made the material nice and tight. Then, they could position the hoop where they wanted the character to sign. The daughter, who was getting the pillow cases, told the character, "Now I am going to have sweet dreams thanks to you." It was very cute.

My suggestion is to get an embroidery hoop at a craft store.

My 5 year old granddaughter had the faries sign her Tinkerbelle umbrella, took our own sharpie and she opened it up after she was in the room with them. It was alot of fun for her as the faries teased her about it being an acorn carrier since you use leaves to keep the rain off your head.

The characters will sign shirts. just make sure that you have a hard surface for them to sign on. You cannot wear the shirt that you want them to sign.

Except for the quote from the little girl, your post could have been about me! I was able to find a small, square, embroidery hoop that just snapped into place. Much easier than the kind you have to loosen a screw to open.

I had characters sign a canvas tote bag. Not only did they sign it, but it gets a lot of attention when I go back :)

Same thing we did. We used permanent fabric markers (no ironing needed to set) and this hoop with a metal insert inside. I know at some point I posted a link to the style of hoop. It's got a piece inside to absorb any extra ink from the pens too.

The pillow cases have been washed at least 10x each and they haven't faded at all. :thumbsup2

it is also helpfull to cut out some cardboard that fits snuggly inside the hoop.it helps give support and the sharpies wont bleed onto the other side:)

when my bigger kids were smaller we had the characters sign white baseball caps... they wore them all day and only took 'em off to have them signed... did double duty and nothing for mom to have to carry! we are planning on doing that this year w/our 2yo :)

I had the characters sign a white "onesie" for my niece. There must have been 25 signatures on it. Some even wrote things like "Never grow up!" (Peter Pan) and "What a little princess!" (Snow White). She wore it for a baby photo session, and then her parents framed it for her room.
