Will CA Grill open back up for reservations?

California Grill is currently unavailable for bookings after October 2 as we create a special dining experience for the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort.

Does this mean while the newly announced cash grab, I mean dessert party is going, you won't be able to eat regular dinner there??

That doesn't seem right, but just wanted to know if anyone has heard details about this.

We are considering CA Grill for Thanksgiving, but everyone wants to see the menu first.

Celebration at the Top sounds like a dessert party. Food items 'from the CG menu'. Designated private viewing area. Don't think it will be in the restaurant.

I agree, but I also think it would be crazy to shut down CA Grill just for an event to coincide with nightly fireworks. A "special" prix fixe dinner sounds like something they'd do...you know, to make it "easier" on guests!

I do think that CG will go to a fixed price menu but I don't think Celebration at the Top = Upstairs at CG. Two different things.

That’s actually much less than I expected. I’m very interested in this.

It sounds like that's only one seating for fireworks then. Not like you can dine at CA Grill at 6pm for instance.

They do have a private banquet room with its own access to the observation deck. CATT might be there. Not sure whether that is the case or not.

From the description this is a cocktail party not a sit down meal. Finger food and wine, beer or cordials. They make no mention of the times though?

Where did you read that? I've seen a lot of speculation about it going that direction, but have never seen it released by Disney.
Only information has been about the Celebration at the Top party.

I'm not seeing anything in that post that says that CG is going to be a prix fixed dinner. Just about the Celebration at the Top. The Napa and Sonoma rooms are private banquet rooms off of CG. The post specifically states Napa and Sonoma rooms. If you go right off the elevator they will be on your right (to left is the restrooms). These rooms overlook Bay Lake not MK and yes, they have their own observation deck.

Now would I be the least bit surprised if they went to a prix fixed dinner like their brunch? No, that seems to be the disney way these days.

Sorry I should be more clear. I was pointing to the elevated cocktail party vs a dessert party. Didn’t seem like it was prix fixed dinner to me either from the description or pics.

It was indeed announced on the Disney Parks Blog, but the post specifies that the event takes place in the Napa and Sonoma rooms - NOT the full restaurant.

Sure looks like this event is in the Private Rooms. No clarity on dining in the main restaurants.
