My DH has a Blackberry for work that has international coverage as he works all over North America. Will it work on the boat? I assume it will work in port. Just wondering. Thanks

Hi

It depends on the carrier. I have a T-mobile Blackberry and it DID NOT work on the 3Day Wonder in May 04.

I do not have international coverage activated. Very curious to know what your research shows. We are going on a 7 Day in January and it would be great if it would work.

The Blackberry relies on the cell networks. Since there are no cell towers at sea, no it will not work. It will work on most of the islands of the area.

It obviously works at Port Canaveral and in Key West, and we found that they worked for about 30 minutes out of port in the U.S. For some reason, our Blackberries did NOT work in Nassau last December, but that may have changed with the addition of more cell towers.

DH has a blackberry and they do not work on board, since they use cell service to download the e-mails.

Most cell providers do not allow you to roam to Nassau. Too many thefts and also there are a great many of those 1.900 numbers there. The fraud is something bad from those exchanges.
