It's finally time for our trip. This time tomorrow we should be landing at John Wayne airport. :smooth:

Just doing some laundry and need to head to the store for some travel size things. I was thinking maybe Dramamine? (not sure if that's spelled right) Anything else that may work for motion sickness. The rides that get me queasy are spinning ones, so no Dumbo, Space Mountain or Tea Cups.

I was checking ride line time all week and they didn't seem to bad, I hope it stay that way for our trip.

I find that if I have some soda in me my motion sickness isn't so bad on the roller coasters. Don't get me wrong, I'm not jumping on tea cups or even roger rabbit, but it's a little better.

We use Bonine or non-drowsy Dramamine. Both work great for us!

Beware Star Tours. It gets me every time. Take Dramamine or Bonine. Sea Bands can also help. They are bands that go around your wrist and use pressure points to reduce nausea. Ginger candies can help, too, if you've already developed nausea.

Start taking it now, helps to have it your system 24 hours before needed.

Dramamine makes me so tired that is makes my days a lot less fun. I take Bonine, which is considered non drowsy, but it still makes me tired after a few hours. I can at least still have fun. Remember, no alcohol when taking either of those.

Take Bonine. You can often get it in little travel containers at rite aid. Also keep your eyes open during rides. That will cut way down on motion sickness. Closing your eyes on rides will increase motion sickness.

Meclizine (Bonine) works great.....one each morning and you will be set. And it does not make you drowsy (dramamine does make you drowsy). Agree with pp......bring ginger candies (I like ginger chews) for when you start to feel a little queasy. Can do Dumbo, but not Tea Cups, Space or Screamin'.....

Thanks for the tips, I'm going to pick up a Sea band and some Bonine.

Also try using the ballerina trick. Focus on an object outside that isn't spinning and follow it with your eyes while you're spinning. If you think about how ballet dancers kind of turn their heads quickly ... they're focusing on a point.

I have terrible motion sickness on just about everything. The only thing that really works for me just about 100% of the time is Relief Band. It's electronic and sends little impulses through your arm in a way I don't totally understand but it works. You put it on a spot on your wrist much like a Sea Band but it pulses. Probably too late for your trip but maybe next time. It's pricey (about $90) but when I wear it I can ride just about anything at the park. I wouldn't dare try things like Star Tours or Teacups without it! The only thing it hasn't worked 100% on for me is Space. I was able to ride it without getting sick but it was one of the worst experiences of my life. :) Actually I don't think it was the Relief Band not working as much as I just really disliked feeling like I was being thrown about in a dark washing machine.

When you use the sea bands make sure to use them correctly. Essentially, it's 2 finger breadths above your wrist bone, in the little dip before your muscles doing up your arm. I hear people all the time saying sea bands don't work, but they are wearing them low on the wrist, like a watch. They go up higher than that for the acupressure point.
